Magic Kingdom Transportation Map, Locations, and Options
Not only is Magic Kingdom the Most Magical Place on Earth, but it’s also one of the busiest. A visit to the theme park is pretty straightforward for experienced guests who know all the ins and outs. However, first-time guests or those who seldom visit might feel overwhelmed figuring out how to get to and from the park. It’s understandable, given the many transportation options and the fact that some guests will have to pass through the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) along the way.
Below, we’ll discuss transportation options and locations for Magic Kingdom. We’ve created a Magic Kingdom transportation map that provides a general idea of where to locate each form of transportation outside the park and TTC. Complimentary transportation options at Magic Kingdom include the monorail, ferry, boats, buses, and walking paths. We’ll also discuss parking, extra cost services (e.g., Minnie Vans, Lyft, and Uber), and the location for off-site hotel drop-offs and pick-ups.
Magic Kingdom Transportation Map
Here is a map with an overlay showing the location of transportation options at Magic Kingdom. The map shows the entrance to Magic Kingdom. Another map below shows the opposite side of Seven Seas Lagoon, where the Transportation and Ticket Center is located.
When facing the entrance, we see the following options to the right:
- Walkway to Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Minnie Van Pick-Up (at the Resort Bus Station)
- Resort Bus Stop
- Magic Kingdom Ferry
Directly parallel to the entrance, we see:
- Resort Boat Docks (Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness)
To the left of the entrance (facing), we see:
- Monorail
- Walkway to the Grand Floridian
- Resort Boat Docks (Grand Floridian and Polynesian)
I’ve extended the map below to reach the Transportation and Ticket Center. If you’re driving to Magic Kingdom, this is where you’ll park. Off-site buses and private car services also drop off and pick up guests here. You’ll take the Express Monorail or the Magic Kingdom Ferry from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the theme park.
Express Monorail at Magic Kingdom
The Express Monorail’s entrance is to the right when you exit Magic Kingdom. The monorail has two entrances on the Magic Kingdom side. One is the Express Monorail, and the other is the Resort Monorail. The Express Monorail only stops at Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center. If you’re park-hopping from Magic Kingdom or Epcot, you can take the Express Monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the Epcot monorail. See the quickest ways to travel between Epcot and Magic Kingdom for route specifics.
Resort Monorail at Magic Kingdom
When you exit Magic Kingdom, the Resort Monorail sits on the opposite side of the Express Monorail. It makes the following stops in this order when leaving the park:
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Transportation and Ticket Center
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
- Returns to Magic Kingdom
You can take this monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center or any surrounding monorail resorts. You’ll want to make sure to exit at your desired location. An announcement will play over the intercom system before each stop.
Magic Kingdom Ferry
The Magic Kingdom Ferry is another option for traveling to and from the park to the Transportation and Ticket Center. While the monorail is often faster, the ferry can take almost twice as many passengers. So, depending on the monorail line, they sometimes balance each other out.
The ferry is an open-air boat. So you won’t feel nearly as packed in with guests as you might on the monorail. It’s a pleasant way to travel across the lagoon.
Resort Boat Services at Magic Kingdom
If you’re traveling to select resorts to and from Magic Kingdom, you’ll also have the option to take the resort bus service. The following resorts offer boat service to the park:
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Boat Dock 1 has two lines. It’s directly outside Magic Kingdom’s entrance. You’ll want to make sure to get in the correct line. One is for the Wilderness Lodge, and the other is for Disney’s Fort Wilderness. Boat Dock 2 is to the right, past the monorail when you exit the park. This boat dock only has one line. The service is shared between the Grand Floridian and Polynesian. When the boat leaves Magic Kingdom, it travels to Grand Floridian and continues to the Polynesian before returning to the park. See taking the Magic Kingdom boat to the Grand Floridian for more details.
Resort Buses at Magic Kingdom
Disney Resort hotels offer bus service to Magic Kingdom, except for the monorail resorts: Disney’s Contemporary, Polynesian Village, and Grand Floridian. The resort bus stop is to the left when you exit the park. When the bus drops you off at Magic Kingdom, you’ll walk through a security checkpoint before reaching the ticket turnstiles. Our resort bus schedule guide shares more details about bus options at each resort.
Minnie Vans
Disney’s Minnie Van service drops off and picks up at bus stop two at Magic Kingdom’s first station. This is the closest drop-off point from the resort bus station to the park’s entrance. (The bus stop shared between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness is immediately across from it.)
Walking Options from Magic Kingdom
When you exit Magic Kingdom, you’ll find the walking path to Disney’s Grand Floridian on the right. The official entrance to the path is past the resort monorail. The path sits adjacent to the Grand Floridian boat dock. You can’t miss it once you get down to the boat dock. We enjoy taking this path and do so rather often. It’s a nice way to decompress after leaving the busy theme park. For the distance and pictures, you might enjoy our overview of taking the Grand Floridian walkway to Magic Kingdom.
You can also walk to Disney’s Contemporary Resort from Magic Kingdom. This walkway is to the far left when you exit Magic Kingdom. You’ll see where the narrow path begins under the monorail tracks. This walkway does involve a crosswalk over a public street and another in the resort’s parking lot. We have a photo post covering the walkway between Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary.
Parking at Magic Kingdom (TTC)
The Magic Kingdom’s parking lot is at the Transportation and Ticket Center. This large lot is divided into two sections: heroes and villains. A parking lot tram runs from the parking lot to the security checkpoint at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Trams do not service the designated parking lot for guests with disabilities and preferred parking. However, those lots are closest to the TTC. For more on preferred parking, you might like to read our overview of parking at Disney World.
Per Disney: Designated parking areas are available throughout Walt Disney World Resort for Guests with disabilities. A valid disability parking permit is required.
Private Car Pick-Up and Off-Site Buses
Guests who use private car services (e.g., taxis, Uber, Lyft) or off-site hotel buses will be dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center. You’ll have to take the ferry or monorail from the TTC to Magic Kingdom. Some consider this extra step time-consuming, and rightfully so. Staying off-site will require more time and effort to reach Magic Kingdom. This is also one of the many reasons that guests tend to stay on-site versus off-site.
