How to Get to Disney’s Old Key West for Dining or a Resort-Hop

Disney’s Old Key West is an incredibly peaceful resort. It’s slow beach town feel, reminiscent of the Florida Keys, adds a touch of nostalgia that you won’t find just anywhere. However, it isn’t a prime resort-hop destination like the Polynesian or Disney’s Boardwalk. It’s more of a place you might want to check out after you’ve been everywhere else or if you’re a regular visitor who’s considering planning a future stay. We like to visit just to browse the gift shop and enjoy a meal at Olivia’s Cafe.
So if you’re at the point on your Disney timeline where a visit to Old Key West is warranted, you might want to know how to get there. Below, we’ll go over those options, depending on your origin. As always, private car services like Minnie Vans, Uber, or Lyft are often the quickest options. If you’re in a hurry or running late for a reservation, those options might be your best bet. We, however, prefer to take advantage of Disney’s complimentary transportation instead of running up yet another tab. It’s also fun to explore a bit. Who knows what you might see on the way?

VERY Important Things You Need to Know!
Below, we’ve provided bus and boat options you might take when visiting Disney’s Old Key West. However, if you’re traveling to the resort earlier in the day (before 11:00 a.m.) the boat option will likely not be available. The boats that run the route between Disney Springs and Old Key West service the resort first. Since Disney Springs doesn’t generally open until 10:00 a.m., there won’t be any guests waiting to leave quite so early. (Ask me how I know this.)
It’s also important to mention that in times of drought or refurbishment, the boats might not be available. These things happen from time to time. So if you were to walk to the boat dock and find they weren’t operating, your quickest option would be to walk back to the bus stop at Disney Springs. From there, take a bus to Disney’s Old Key West.
Lastly, if you take a bus, you’ll want to exit at the correct bus stop when you reach Disney’s Old Key West. That bus stop is Hospitality House. When you leave a theme park, Hospitality House is the 5th and final bus stop on the route.* When you leave Disney Springs, Hospitality House is the 1st bus stop at the resort.
*If you don’t want to wait until the 5th bus stop, you can exit at Peninsular Road (the 1st stop) and walk back to Hospitality House. This will be quicker, but you must cross a road within the resort.
Pro Tip: If you’re worried or confused, ask the bus driver. Most of them will do their very best to make sure you exit at the right stop.
