Disney Springs Resort Boat Service Suspension Continues into Summer as Water Levels Remain Low (2024)
When it rains, it pours here in sunny Florida. Unfortunately, we’re experiencing a pretty extreme drought in central Florida that’s caused an extended closure of the boat service between several resorts and Disney Springs. We experienced a similar situation last year. However, the boat service was only out for a couple of weeks at that time. This year, the boat service has been suspended for approximately a month, and with no significant rainfall, it could be some time before we see it return.
Update: June 19, 2024: The water taxi service to Disney Springs is once again operational.
If you have an upcoming vacation planned at one of the following resorts, you could be affected by this temporary closure:
- Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort
- Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort
- Disney’s Old Key West
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
Bus service is provided from each of these resorts to Disney Springs. The buses drop guests off at the Town Center entrance of Disney Springs. Upon return to the resort, the bus stops are near the same area where you were dropped off. We usually exit Disney Springs near the Coca-Cola Store or Wolfgang Puck to access bus transportation.
If traveling between Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside, you can walk or take the Disney Springs bus between the resorts. That bus runs in the following order:
- Port Orleans French Quarter
- Port Orleans Riverside South Depot (Lobby)
- Port Orleans Riverside (West Depot)
- Port Orleans Riverside (North Depot)
- Port Orleans Riverside (East Depot)
- Port Orleans French Quarter (Second Stop)
- Disney Springs
