Taking the Bus at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (With Average Travel Times)
As you plan your Disney World vacation, you’ll want to be aware of the benefits available to resort guests. Perhaps the most significant benefit is complimentary transportation. You won’t have to deal with traffic, directions, or figuring out the logistics of parking. It’s especially nice not to have to find your car when you’re exhausted after a long day in the parks! You’ll hop on the bus and let Disney take care of the rest.
Those staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge can access two forms of complimentary transportation from the resort: buses and boats. You can take a boat or bus to Magic Kingdom. Then, after 3:00 p.m., an additional boat service is available to Fort Wilderness and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Bus service is available from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to all major theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Fort Wilderness and Campground. It’s important to know that Wilderness Lodge’s bus service is shared with either Disney’s Fort Wilderness or Disney’s Contemporary.
Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness share a bus service to Magic Kingdom. The bus picks up in this order:
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Fort Wilderness (The Settlement)
- Magic Kingdom
So, if you take the bus to Magic Kingdom, you’ll stop at Fort Wilderness on the way. Wilderness Lodge will be the first stop on the return trip.
Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness also share a bus service to Epcot. When you leave Epcot, you’ll stop at Fort Wilderness (The Outpost) on the return trip from the park.
Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Contemporary Resort share a bus service to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs. The bus picks up in this order:
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Contemporary
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
So you’ll have an extra stop on the way to the parks, but you’ll be the first drop-off on the return trip. (You can also hop on one of these destinations to take a bus from the resort to the Contemporary. We always confirm with the bus driver that they’ll make the extra stop.)
*Extra buses usually service both resorts first thing in the morning when more guests travel to the parks. So, you might not always have that extra stop.
The bus stop at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is off the resort’s side entrance, past Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, the gift shop. A long, covered walkway extends from the lobby to the bus stop. However, some of the waiting zones are in direct sunlight.
Here are our bus travel times from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. It’s important to note that these times do not include how long we waited for the bus. The times below are how long it takes to get from the resort to the destination, including the extra bus stop where applicable. They are the average of several trips and do not consider extenuating circumstances like significant traffic.
