Planning a Stay at Disney’s Boardwalk? We Tracked the Buses Average Travel Times
As you plan your Disney World vacation, you’ll want to be aware of the benefits available to resort guests. Perhaps the most significant benefit is complimentary transportation. You won’t have to worry about directions, or figuring out the logistics of parking. It’s especially nice not to have to find your car after a long day in the parks! You’ll hop on the bus and let Disney take care of the rest.
Those staying at Disney’s BoardWalk will have access to several forms of complimentary transportation from the resort: the Skyliner, boats, buses, and walking paths. (You can walk or boat to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from this resort!)
Regarding the buses, you’ll need to take them when visiting Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs. It’s also important to know that BoardWalk shares a bus service with neighboring Beach and Yacht Club for Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs. You’ll be the last stop on the way to those destinations, but you’ll have two extra stops at the other resorts on the return trip. This is how the routes work:
- Disney’s Yacht Club (1st Stop)
- Disney’s Beach Club (2nd Stop)
- Disney’s BoardWalk (3rd Stop)
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Destination)
on the return trip
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Board Bus)
- Disney’s Yacht Club (1st Stop)
- Disney’s Beach Club (2nd Stop)
- Disney’s BoardWalk (Last Stop)
*Extra buses service the resorts first thing in the morning when more people are traveling to the parks. So, you won’t have to worry about the bus filling before it reaches the BoardWalk.
BoardWalk’s bus stop is at the end of a long covered walkway, accessible from the resort’s front entrance. The entire stop is under a covered pavilion with a couple of benches. It gets fairly congested during the busier portions of the day.
Here are our average bus travel times from the BoardWalk. It’s important to note that these times do not include how long we waited for the bus. Wait times signs are available at the resort bus stop, indicating when the next bus will arrive. The times below are how long it takes to get from the resort to the destination. They are the average of several trips and do not consider extenuating circumstances like significant traffic.
Buses From: | To: | Time: |
---|---|---|
BoardWalk | Magic Kingdom | 12 minutes |
BoardWalk | Animal Kingdom | 13 minutes |
