Disney’s Blizzard Beach Transportation Options (How to Get to and From the Water Park)
If you plan to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach, you will probably want to know the best route to the water park. The options will vary depending on whether you’re visiting from off-site or as a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guest. Below, we’ll discuss your transportation options to and from Disney’s Blizzard Beach.
How Disney Water Parks Operate
It’s important to note that Disney’s water parks operate on a rotational schedule. Blizzard Beach is typically open between early November and March, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open between March and November. You’ll want to check the exact hours and availability for your visit.
Disney Resorts to Blizzard Beach
Disney’s Hotels offer complimentary bus transportation to and from Blizzard Beach. However, in most instances, you will have to take a transfer bus. Previously, direct bus transportation from the resorts was offered to Blizzard Beach, and the same return service was provided. However, that option is rare these days.
When you reach your resort’s bus stop, you will see a sign that indicates the wait times for the next bus. Typically, for Blizzard Beach, the sign says, “Must Transfer to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” So you will board the next bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
When you exit the bus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll want to locate the bus stop for Blizzard Beach. The bus driver will point you in the right direction. If they don’t mention it over the intercom, just ask them; they will ensure you get to the right place. (The bus drivers are good about remembering this, especially earlier in the day when more guests are headed to the water park.)
When you leave the water park, you’ll return the same way. If the water parks run direct buses back to the resorts, you’ll see signage indicating which bus stop to use. Again, we rarely see this option, but it has been tested.
Here is an example of a bus stop sign that indicates you’ll take the Animal Kingdom bus and transfer to Disney’s Blizzard Beach.
The following example indicates that a direct bus service is running to the water park.
Parking at Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Parking is free at Disney’s Blizzard Beach, whether you are a resort guest or visiting from off-property. If you visit first thing on a weekend or holiday, cast members direct guests where to park. For those who visit later in the day, I recommend driving to the front of the lot and finding a spot where someone has left early. Many passholders visit the park for a couple of hours at a time. So it’s common to find parking closer to the front of the park after lunchtime.
