Our Favorite Outdoor Dining Spots at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club

Whether you live in Florida or only visit for vacations, you likely already know the weather is a big part of the appeal. With such pleasant weather, most of the year, you might like to take advantage of it. One of our favorite ways to do so is by picking up a snack or a meal and finding a place to enjoy it. We especially love to do this during our stays at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. It’s the perfect resort to embrace the outdoors.
Now if you’re not staying at either resort, you might check out a few of the spots mentioned below on a resort-hop. However, some of them are exclusive to resort guests. To be clear, the resort’s pool areas are for guests who are paying to stay at the resorts. While the resorts are open for guests to visit, tour, and dine, it’s important to know there are defined boundaries between paying guests and those only visiting for a brief period. It costs a considerable amount to stay at these resorts and exclusivity is part of that price tag.

We’ll start at the Beach Club Marketplace, the Beach Club’s primary quick-service restaurant and combined gift shop. This location does not have an interior dining room. However, it does have an outdoor dining area across the hall from the main entrance. (You can also take a few steps down the hall toward the lobby and dine inside the Solarium if you prefer indoors.)

Outside, you’ll find a beautiful covered patio with tables and chairs. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. I’ve also happened upon several families enjoying a game of cards or a board game here in the past.

A row of tables and chairs in this area extends toward the Beach Club Villas.

Here’s a look at the entire outdoor area. Like the rest of the resort, it’s exceptionally peaceful.

When we stay at Disney’s Beach Club, I almost always end up enjoying a meal at the Tidal Pool. We’ve been known to pick up a to-go order from D-Luxe Burger or Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs and bring it back to the resort. This is usually where we enjoy it.

Here’s the view. You can catch glimpses of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk from this area.

If you’re not staying at the resort but would still like to enjoy a quick meal in a scenic area, I would recommend the outdoor dining area at Hurricane Hanna’s. It sits on the walkway between Crescent Lake and Stormalong Bay. I wrote an article about dining at Hurricane Hanna’s as a non-resort guest a few months back. The food is pretty standard Disney quick-service, but with views like these, we don’t have any complaints.

On the opposite side of Stormalong Bay, you’ll find a variety of tables and chairs outside the fenced pool area. Between lunch and dinner, these tables are often reserved for guests of Beaches and Cream. However, if you’re staying at the resort, this is an excellent location to enjoy breakfast. You can pick something up from either resort’s quick service or order to-go from Ale and Compass, and enjoy it out here. (Two Words: Chocolate Waffles)

You may remember in our sunrise walk around the lighthouse at Disney’s Yacht Club, I shared one of my favorite spots at the resorts. These rockers and chairs on the extended walkway between the resorts are a perfect place for anyone to relax.

Many of them have a small table, making for an ideal place to enjoy a meal. Lately, my go-to has been picking up a soda with a small pack of cheese crackers and chocolate-covered espresso beans from The Market at Ale and Compass. Then, I find a seat out here and relax.

Lastly, we enjoy dining inside the Stormalong Bay pool area when we’re resort guests. Most of our stays at the resort are pretty intentional. We stay on property, as our budget allows, for updates like new rooms and refurbishments. However, when we’re visiting for pure vacation, we almost always end up at the Yacht or Beach Club. Most of those “off days” are spent at Stormalong Bay. However, if you’re visiting in prime pool hours, it can be difficult to find a seat. You might look on the raised pool deck that overlooks the entire area if you can’t find anything.

But our preferred area is the one photographed below that’s surrounded by trees. We have been known to rope-drop the pool to get one of these tables and chairs. Then, we’ll spend most of the day there, starting with a late breakfast to-go order from Ale and Compass. We’ll spend the entire day at the pool, and then head to the parks for dinner and a couple of rides or fireworks in the evening. These days are always our favorites.

If you have an upcoming visit planned, I’ll hope you’ll get to take advantage of some of these areas, barring any refurishments. For more on the resorts, you might enjoy the following:
