Ordering To-Go from Geyser Point Bar and Grill (A Wilderness Lodge Must Do)
If you’re visiting or staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, at some point, you might find yourself on the lookout for a tasty meal that doesn’t require much of a wait. Thankfully, you have options. You can place a mobile order from Geyser Point Bar and Grill or Roaring Fork.
Even better, they both have several excellent entrees. You might have a difficult time choosing what you want to eat. Of course, you can always order food at the counter from either of these locations. But sometimes, we push ourselves in the parks and are often famished on the way back to the resort. That’s when we like to place a mobile order from Geyser Point Bar and Grill. Our order is usually ready by the time we get there, so we can almost immediately sit down and eat instead of waiting for our food to be prepared. Here’s how we do it.
On our last visit to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, I spent most of the morning at Epcot. It was hot, and I was tired. I had thought about having a late lunch at Geyser Point Bar and Grill. But the humidity was almost unbearable, so I wanted to enjoy a meal inside rather than out. I quickly formed a plan to place a mobile order on the bus ride back to the resort. Then, I decided to take it inside the Carolwood Pacific Railway Room at Boulder Ridge. I was almost sure I could find an empty table and chairs.
When I boarded the bus at Epcot, I perused the menu and placed my order for an arrival time within the next 45 minutes. The return bus ride to Wilderness Lodge always stops at Fort Wilderness first on the return trip. It’s the only bus that’s shared with Fort Wilderness. So when we stopped at Fort Wilderness, I selected “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” in the My Disney Experience app. We arrived at the Wilderness Lodge approximately seven minutes later. When I exited the bus, I received an alert that my order was ready. It was perfect timing!
Instead of walking through the Wilderness Lodge, I took the outdoor pathway that leads directly to Geyser Point Bar and Grill. I highlighted the path on the map below so you would know how to get there. If you need to freshen up before picking up your order, restrooms are available at Geyser Point.
As we recently discussed in another post, Geyser Point Bar and Grill is a table service restaurant on the Disney Dining Plan, even if you place a mobile order at the quick service window. (See How Geyser Point Bar and Grill Works on the Dining Plan for more details.)
The photo below shows the outdoor lounge area for Geyer Point on the left side and the quick service window on the right. Mobile orders are available for pick-up at the window.
Here is the notification screen when your order is ready for pick-up.
I returned almost the same way to get back to Boulder Ridge, which sits near the resort’s bus stop. However, instead of walking to the bus stop, I made a slight left on the wooden walkway that leads to the Boulder Ridge lobby.
You’ll pass this Disney Vacation Club topiary with Mickey Mouse on the way.
Here is a photo of the walkway to Boulder Ridge.
After entering Boulder Ridge, you’ll take an immediate right and walk straight into the Carolwood Pacific Railway Room. It’s a gorgeous lounge area with tables, chairs, and several other seating arrangements.
This is where I enjoyed my meal.
I ordered the Bison Cheeseburger, which the menu describes as served with bacon, sweet and crispy onion straws, Marionberry sauce, and garlic aioli. This burger tends to get rave reviews. Altogether, I thought that it made an excellent bite. However, when I deconstructed it a bit, the meat was underseasoned, and I could have used some more of the Marionberry sauce. My bread had soaked up a tiny circle of the sauce to the point it was almost non-existent.
So I thought it was a good burger. But it wasn’t necessarily anything special compared to the hype it gets. The bun and the crispy onion straws were the best part.
On our recent stay at the Wilderness Lodge, I mobile ordered the charcuterie flatbread on the way back to the room one evening. It was delicious. The menu describes this item as a flatbread topped with salami, brisket, chorizo, bacon, and smoked Gouda Beer Cheese. I was hesitant about trying it, but I ended up loving it.
If you want to dine outside, a few tables and chairs with umbrellas are near Fire Rock Geyser. They are outside the pool area, so you don’t have to be a resort guest to enjoy them.
Of course, as I mentioned earlier, you can always get a walk-up to dine at Geyser Point, which we also enjoy. But sometimes you want a meal without all the hassle. This is also about the closest you’ll get to room service if you’re staying at the resort. In another post, we recently discussed the lack of room service at Disney World.
I hope you enjoyed this dining experience and found it helpful! We love to use Disney’s mobile order service. For more on dining at Disney World, you might enjoy:
