Clarifying the Confusion: Geyser Point Bar and Grill and the Disney Dining Plan
Since the return of the Disney Dining Plan, we’ve seen numerous questions about one location in particular: the “quick service” window at Geyser Point Bar and Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The confusion is understandable. Let me explain.
Geyser Point Bar and Grill is a lounge between the resort’s feature pool and Bay Lake at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. It is open daily from lunchtime until later in the evening. They do not take reservations. Guests are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Meals here are one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. From our dining guide, we know that table service credits equal the following:
Table service credits at brunch, lunch, or dinner include the choice of an entree, dessert, and beverage (including an alcoholic beverage, to those applicable).
So you can order an entree, dessert, and beverage at Geyser Point Bar and Grill for the cost of one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. That sounds simple, right? The confusion lies with the restaurant’s quick service window, which doubles as the pool’s quick service. Most guests think they can order from the window and use a quick-service dining credit.
So we visited the resort recently to find out. The verdict: You cannot use the quick-service dining plan at Geyser Point Bar and Grill’s quick-service window. There was so much confusion that they’ve placed multiple signs directing guests to visit Roaring Fork to use their quick-service dining credits. When I asked the cast member about the situation, she basically said they were overwhelmed with the same question daily.
Since this secondary location is a window where you can walk up and order food or place a mobile order, everyone thinks you can use a quick-service dining credit. Unfortunately, you can’t. So, if you spend a day at the pool and plan to use a quick-service credit, your only option is Roaring Fork. However, you can refill Rapid Fill mugs at the Geyser Point Bar and Grill quick-service window because it has a self-serve beverage station.
But if you’re hoping for a quick dinner to take back to the pool, you’ll need to use a table service credit, pay out of pocket, or pick up something from Roaring Fork. Thankfully, Roaring Fork has some delicious options! For more information on dining at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you might enjoy the following:
