Our Top 6 Choices for Character Breakfasts at Disney World in 2024
It’s no secret that character meals don’t usually offer the most quality food. That’s why we prefer having breakfast with characters over any other character dining experience at Walt Disney World. Everyone has things they enjoy for breakfast; even the most basic things, like bacon and eggs, can be pretty tasty.
So, with those thoughts in mind, we’ve compiled a list of our top six choices for character breakfasts. We’ve included an overview of what to expect at each location, pricing, and what characters are available at each location. When making reservations, you’ll want to plan enough time to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. Character meals often take a little longer than the average dining experience.
You’ll also want to consider timing and your plans. If you schedule a character meal on a day you plan to rope drop a park, you might experience a few attractions and have a later breakfast. Or you could plan a leisurely character breakfast at one of the resorts on a rest or half-day when you don’t have plans to be at a park early. The most important thing to remember is that you must have valid park admission to dine in a theme park. So, make sure to plan accordingly.
#6 ‘Ohana
‘Ohana is one of the most popular character breakfasts at Disney World. We love any chance we get to visit the Polynesian, but so does everyone else. So, you can expect a crowd. Like most character meals, it will likely be a lively breakfast. Regarding food, you’ll get a few things when you initially sit down at the table, like a platter of fresh fruit and delicious pineapple-coconut bread. Meals are served family-style. They come to the table in large skillets.
‘Ohana’s breakfast skillets include scrambled eggs, pork sausage links, Hawaiian-style ham topped with pineapple compote, breakfast potatoes, Mickey-shaped waffles, and biscuits. The food is decent at ‘Ohana, but everything else is pretty generic besides the special ham and bread. However, we think that the character interaction with Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, and Mickey Mouse is worth it!

#5 The Crystal Palace
We chose this next character breakfast because of the rare characters! When you enjoy breakfast at The Crystal Palace, you’ll have the chance to meet Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. This is one of the only places you can meet Eeyore and Piglet in the parks. They are exceptionally rare characters!
In terms of food, The Crystal Palace is a buffet with a few specialty items, such as Blackberry Streusel Coffee Cake, Signature Breakfast Lasagna, and Churro Mickey Waffles. You read that right: Churro Mickey Waffles! Other items include pancakes, bacon, sausages, eggs, and more. My only complaint about The Crystal Palace is that the buffet can get messy with so many guests. However, on our last visit, we noticed that cast members were working overtime to keep everything full and as tidy as possible.

#4 Tusker House Restaurant
Tusker House is a fun character breakfast because you meet classic characters in their safari suits! They have a few specialty items on the menu, like Simba Waffles, Safari Bread, and Zebra Coffee Cake. Other buffet items include scrambled eggs, Mickey waffles, bacon, sausage, and roasted potatoes, among many other items. This is an excellent way to meet a few characters on your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You might watch The Festival of the Lion King after your meal or take a spin on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Both or nearby!

#3 Cape May Cafe
Cape May Cafe is one of our favorite places to have breakfast when we’re staying in the Epcot Resorts Area. We love to visit Minnie’s Beachside Bash and see Daisy, Donald, Goofy, and Minnie in their beachside attire! This restaurant offers a breakfast buffet like bacon, sausage, crepes, oatmeal, grits, cheddar biscuits, gravy, carving stations, and more. Don’t miss the salted caramel buns brought to the table when you’re first seated. They are the star of the meal!

#2 1900 Park Fare
1900 Park Fare is pretty much Disney’s newest character meal since it was closed for five years! Unfortunately, it no longer offers the same character lineup. Fortunately, the new character lineup is pretty cool. We met Tiana, Cinderella, Prince Ali, and Mirabel during breakfast. Oh, and the food? Other than our next option, I felt it was the highest quality food we’d had at a character meal. They also had strawberry soup, which is a 1900 Park Fare classic!

#1 Topolino’s Terrace
Our top choice for character restaurants at Walt Disney World is Topolino’s Terrace (Breakfast a la Art). This is one of the only character meals at Disney World that is not a buffet. Topolino’s is the one place where you feel like you’re getting a high-end meal and meeting characters. Plus, the restaurant’s rooftop atmosphere makes you feel like you’re dining somewhere special. We enjoy all aspects of this character breakfast!
