Ale and Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club (But Make it To-Go)
You’re tired, you’re hungry, and you’re staying at Disney’s Yacht or Beach Club. Unfortunately, neither of the resort’s quick-service restaurants sounds remotely decent. You are not alone. The options are terrible and have been for years! But there is one saving grace: mobile ordering from Ale and Compass.
We usually stay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club several times yearly. Granted, some of those trips are for short stays. We might visit for a night or two to spend a day at the pool or attend a special event like Disney After Hours. Those stays usually involve multiple mobile orders from Ale and Compass. Unfortunately, I’ve done a terrible job documenting most of the things we’ve tried. We’ve had nearly everything on the menu!
But, again, most of our resort visits are for relaxation. So, I try to put the camera down as much as possible when spending time with family and friends. That said, I still have photos of a few things we’ve tried. Many of them, we’ve ordered multiple times. Let’s take a look!
We’ll start with the wedge Romaine salad, which comes with garlic-peppercorn cream dressing, bacon lardons, tomatoes, and blue cheese. (There is an option to add shrimp or chicken for an upcharge.) I also ordered the Blue Crab Bisque. During my last stay, I enjoyed this light and elevated meal under an umbrella at the resort’s pool area.
Last summer, we spent a week at the Yacht Club, and I enjoyed the cheeseburger kids’ meal a couple of times. As an adult, you could not order a kids’ meal if you dined inside the restaurant. However, being able to mobile order kids’ meals feels like a fair trade-off, given the lack of decent, freshly prepared quick-service items. The cheeseburger is good quality, and I love those hearty steak fries. They come with an additional side and a small beverage. I ordered fruit as my side.
I ordered the same kids’ meal with sautéed broccolini on another evening, which was excellent. Other side options include red potatoes, corn, macaroni and cheese, honey-marshmallow s’mores (this is new), and mini ice cream sandwiches.
You can also mobile order breakfast items. Of course, Ale and Compass is one of our favorite places to have breakfast at Walt Disney World. They have a unique option allowing guests to order an entree with a buffet. The buffet has appetizer-like items, including fruit, yogurt, pastries, and a few hearty selections like biscuits and gravy. It’s a lot of food and more of a brunch-y affair, but the pricing is reasonable.
Here, we have a blueberry pancakes kids’ meal with a side of chicken sausage and sweet potatoes. Okay, this is the perfect way to start your day. If you want more pancakes, you can order the adult portion, which comes with a choice of bacon, sausage, or fresh fruit. Over the years, I’ve ordered both and have found them to be reasonable portions.

Lastly, we have a few other items we’ve ordered for breakfast. The dark chocolate waffles are our all-time favorite. They come with dried cherry compote, espresso-mascarpone cream, chocolate shavings, and a side of bacon or sausage. They are not nearly as decadent as they sound. Usually, when I recommend them, I get a cringe face with something like “chocolate waffles….for breakfast?” But after trying them, they turn into chocolate waffles for breakfast every day on vacation.
Also pictured are the Mickey-shaped waffle kids’ meal and a fruit platter, which is also a kids’ meal. If you’re staying at the resort and would enjoy some fresh fruit, this is the way to go—that is unless you order frozen grapes from Hurricane Hanna’s. They are another treat, especially when it’s hot outside.
How to Order To-Go from Ale and Compass
If you’re unfamiliar with placing mobile orders, don’t worry. It’s a simple process, and you can practice ahead of time. (Just don’t place the order until you’re there!)
- Open the My Disney Experience app on your phone.
- Select the (+) sign at the bottom center of the screen.
- Select Disney’s Yacht Club as the location.
- Select Begin Order at Ale & Compass Restaurant To-Go
- Browse the menu, select items, and place your order.
*When you first open the app, you have the option to schedule your order for the next available time or for later. As an example, if you plan to return to the hotel for dinner, you could place an order that morning and schedule it for later. You could do this while everyone was getting ready, and you wouldn’t have to worry about doing it later. If you’re not sure of the exact time, you’ll have the option to change your arrival window later. So, if you got stuck in a long line, you could adjust the timing. They will not prepare your order until you confirm in the app that you’re ready to pick it up.
Final Thoughts
We love Ale and Compass and have tried many more menu items. You can learn more about dining inside the restaurant through these reviews:
We also recently discussed the lack of in-room dining at Disney World. Ordering to go from Ale and Compass and taking it back to your room is about as close as you can get to room service at the Beach and Yacht Club. However, note that Ale and Compass’s hours are limited to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They aren’t open late.
As far as quick service goes, we recently enjoyed an order of onion rings at Hurricane Hanna’s. This will be your go-to location if you need something kid-friendly, like chicken nuggets or cheeseburgers. We also enjoy the prime rib sliders at Crew’s Cup, a family-friendly lounge at the Yacht Club. If the weather is cool, we also enjoy the clam chowder at Martha’s Vineyard.
