Photo Gallery: The Solarium at Disney’s Beach Club

When you visit Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you’ll find plenty of places to relax. Most guests flock to the lobby, and I can attest that it is often bustling. It is rare to find much of a lull with so many guests coming and going in all directions. The lobby is by no means a quiet spot where you can relax and read a book, unless you have the superhuman ability to tune everything out. That said, you’ll find a serene spot only a few steps away that offers a little more intimate setup: The Solarium.

The Solarium sits directly between the lobby and Beach Club Marketplace, the resort’s combined quick service restaurant and gift shop. You cannot miss it. A sign that reads “The Solarium” is posted outside the entrance. You are welcome to find a spot inside to relax. This is an especially nice place to rest when it’s hot outside. The wall of windows surrounding the exterior walls lets in a lot of light, but the air-conditioning keeps things cool. Here are a few photos of the space.

At the end of the long hallway, the space opens up to a sizeable lounge-like area. Over the years, this space has had a few purposes. Mostly, it’s a place for guests to relax. Many years ago, a special tea service called the Crescent Solarium was offered, but that’s a thing of the past. Also, when it’s raining, the Movies Under the Stars often get moved to this location.

You might notice a children’s area is available in front of the television. This space usually has a few high chairs in case you decide to enjoy a meal here. (I haven’t looked lately, but there used to be a variety of games in the cabinets under the television.) Here are a few more photos.

Here is a view of The Solarium as seen from the Beach Club Villas. This angled walkway (where I’m standing) connects the resort and the villas wing. The statue of Ariel, The Little Mermaid, is immediately to my right. Another sidewalk is available to the left of the picture. It leads to a covered outdoor patio, which is a seating area for Disney’s Beach Club Marketplace. It’s one of the areas we discussed in our favorite outdoor dining spots at Disney’s Beach Club.

If you’re new to the Beach Club, I hope this helped you locate a place to relax. Also, I wanted to mention that this is an excellent place to meet up with friends or family to enjoy a conversation in a pleasant setting. We have a couple of friends from all over that we meet up with at Disney. Often, we’ll enjoy a meal and then find a spot to relax and extend our conversation.
