Grand Ave at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Begin Phased Closure in May 2025
Disney has shared that the Grand Ave area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will begin a phased closure this May. This closure will affect several attractions and restaurants in the area. Disney has shared the following initial timeline for closures:
- May 10, 2025, is the last day to dine at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano.
- June 7, 2025, is the last day to experience Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo.
Reminder: The Muppets will be relocating to Sunset Boulevard as they take over the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster attraction. It will be the first-ever Disney ride to feature the Muppets.
While Disney didn’t release a closing date for the current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith, the announcement noted the following:
In the meantime, there’s still enough time to catch a super-stretch limo to the Forum to enjoy Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and catch a glorious three-hour finale with Muppet*Vision 3D again before their final curtain calls.

With the sad news of these closures, we can also look forward to construction beginning on the new Monsters, Inc.-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new land will feature a suspended roller coaster rise reminiscent of the door vault scene, dining, shopping, and a new theater show.
