Disney World’s Resort Hotel Refurbishment Schedule (2025-2026)
At any given time, multiple resorts, hotels, and villas at Walt Disney World are undergoing refurbishment. Refurbishments can range from major construction to minor items like a brief pool closure.
Below, we’ve listed the scheduled resort refurbishments for the Walt Disney World Resorts. If you plan an upcoming stay, you might want to consider some of these refurbishments. For instance, do you want to stay at a hotel where loud construction begins at 9:00 a.m.? If you enjoy sleeping late, the answer is probably no. However, a little noise might not be a big deal if you plan to arrive at the parks early every morning.
Another consideration is whether you’ll spend much time at the pool. When one pool closes for refurbishment, the other pools at the resort get crowded. Generally, Disney completes most pool refurbishments in the cooler months. But if you have a small child and see that an aquatic play area will be closed during your trip, you might consider another resort.
Of course, not all of these refurbishments are dealbreakers. You’ll need to weigh the importance of each item for yourself. Overall, I would ask myself if the resort is still worth the expense with the refurbishment that’s taking place. If not, this might be an excellent time to consider an alternative.

Disney World Resort Hotel Refurbishment
This list contains resort refurbishments announced for this year and beyond at Walt Disney World. We update this article to include new announcements and things that we see and hear during our resort visits.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
The following refurbishment notice is posted for Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
From January 2025 through April 2025, Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim in the Duck Pond Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
The following refurbishment notice is posted for Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
From January 2026 until late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports will continue to be available. Additionally, Guests are welcome to use the other pools throughout Disney’s All-Star Resorts, including the Calypso Pool, Piano Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort; and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

Beginning in January 2025, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts are currently undergoing refurbishments. While Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.

From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas
The following notice is posted for Disney’s BoardWalk.
From January 2025 through May 2025, the merchandise locations along Disney’s BoardWalk will be refurbished in phases. Two merchandise locations will remain available for Guests throughout the refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see and hear construction activity in the area.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Beginning March 24, 2025, Sebastian’s Bistro will be closed for refurbishment. It’s expected to reopen at the end of March. Guests may see and hear construction in the area until work is completed. While the restaurant is closed, enjoy the many other dining options.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The following notice is available for Bay Lake Tower, which could affect Disney’s Contemporary.
From Sept. 2024-Sept. 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During the refurbishment, Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Additionally, the Skybridge may experience intermittent closures. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized.

Disney’s Bay Lake Tower
The following notice is for Bay Lake Tower, which sits adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
From January 26, 2026 to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool and the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.
Refurbishment Dates: January 26, 2026 to early May 2026
From Sept. 2024-Sept. 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During the refurbishment, Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Additionally, the Skybridge may experience intermittent closures. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

A new resort, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, is being constructed along the shoreline of Disney’s Fort Wilderness. It is scheduled to open in 2027.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
The following notice is posted for Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
The Courtyard Pool, spa, and Courtyard Pool Bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are scheduled to be closed from January 13, 2025, through late February 2025, for routine maintenance on the Courtyard Pool building.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Please allow for extra travel time.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort
From February 10 to early April 2025, boat transportation from Old Key West to Disney Springs will be unavailable. Resort buses will be available as an alternative during this time.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Villas
The following refurbishment notice is posted for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Now through 2026, you may see and hear construction and refurbishment work during daytime hours. The ongoing enhancements may impact views from several places within the Resort hotel property. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will begin no earlier than 9:00 AM.
Refurbishment work is subject to change due to operational needs or weather conditions.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort
The following refurbishment notices are posted for Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Refurbishment work is happening at the Everything POP Food Court through April 2025. The full menu and all seating will remain available for Guests to enjoy. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area.
From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, you may notice construction during daytime hours.
