Disney World’s Resort Hotel Refurbishment Schedule (2024-2026)
At any given time, multiple resorts, hotels, and villas are undergoing refurbishment at Walt Disney World. Refurbishments can range from major construction to minor items like a brief pool closure.
Below, we’ve listed the scheduled resort refurbishments for the Walt Disney World Resorts. If you plan an upcoming stay, you might want to consider some of these refurbishments. For instance, do you want to stay at a hotel where loud construction begins at 9:00 a.m.? If you enjoy sleeping late, the answer is probably no. However, a little noise might not be a big deal if you plan to arrive at the parks early every morning.
Another consideration is whether you’ll spend much time at the pool. When one pool closes for refurbishment, the other pools at the resort get crowded. Generally, Disney completes most pool refurbishments in the cooler months. But if you have a small child and see that an aquatic play area will be closed during your trip, you might consider another resort.
Of course, not all of these refurbishments are dealbreakers. You’ll need to weigh the importance of each item for yourself. Overall, I would ask myself if the resort is still worth the expense with the refurbishment that’s taking place. If not, this might be an excellent time to consider an alternative.

Disney World Resort Hotel Refurbishment
This list contains resort refurbishments announced for this year and beyond at Walt Disney World. We update this article to include new announcements and things that we see and hear during our resort visits.
Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
Beginning July 13, 2024, horseback riding will be temporarily unavailable Monday through Friday at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground due to construction. However, rides may be available on Saturdays and Sundays during this time. Check the My Disney Experience mobile app on Friday of each week to see if horseback riding is happening on the following Saturday and Sunday—and if available, reserve a ride
Disney Refurbishment Calendar
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
The following notices are for refurbishment at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Starting August 5, 2024, Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. During this time, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
Refurbishment Dates: August 5, 2024 to TBD
From mid-May 2025 to September 2025, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo refurbishment. While all Resort amenities will remain available, you may notice refurbishment work during daytime hours.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Nothing is scheduled at this time. Make sure to note the refurbishment at Bay Lake Tower below.

Bay Lake Tower
The following notice is for Bay Lake Tower, which sits adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
From Sept. 2024 through Sept. 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During the refurbishment, guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Additionally, the Skybridge may experience intermittent closures. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized. (This is expected to be a major room refurbishment.)

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
The following notices are posted for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Now through 2026, you may see and hear construction and refurbishment work during daytime hours. The ongoing enhancements may impact views from several places within the Resort hotel property. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m.
Refurbishment Dates: Now Through 2026
A new Disney Vacation Club Resort is being built between Disney’s Polynesian Village and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, so significant construction is happening near both resorts.
As we prepare for the proposed expansion at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will see and hear construction at certain times of the day. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9:00 a.m.
The former walkway along Seven Seas Lagoon is also closed due to this construction. During this time, guests will have to take a construction path between the Grand Floridian and Polynesian. (The construction path is closed as of this update.)

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
The following notices are posted for Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Please allow for extra travel time.

Disney’s Beach Club and Beach Club Villas
The following notices are posted for Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts.
From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Disney’s Yacht Club
The following notice is posted specifically for Disney’s Yacht Club.
From January 2025 through May 2025, some guest rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be under refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. Most resort hotel amenities will remain available.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas
The following notices are posted for Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas.
From August through mid-September, Leaping Horse Libations will undergo refurbishment work. During this time, a temporary bar will be available on the pool deck from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.

Additional Notice
Beginning in September, the Screen Door General Store, Disney’s Character Carnival, and Thimbles & Threads at Disney’s BoardWalk will each undergo refurbishment. While one store is closed for construction, you are welcome to shop at and enjoy the other two stores we have available.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort will be unavailable from January 12th through January 25th for planned maintenance.

Room Refurbishment
From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, you may notice construction during daytime hours.
Refurbishment Dates: March 2025 to mid-February 2026
Food Court and Gift Shop
From September 29 to November 30, 2024, the Everything POP Food Court will be undergoing refurbishment. Please be prepared to use alternate entrances to the food court—and be aware that dining room seating may be limited.
Beginning September 30, 2024, Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. During construction, the store will remain partially open to Guests looking to find toys, gifts and more.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani Village
From September to late December 2024, the exterior of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village will undergo refurbishments. During this time, views of the Sunset Savanna from Sanaa may be obstructed. However, animal viewing will be available from the Savanna Outlook, adjacent to Sanaa, during daytime hours.
*Kidani Village is expected to undergo a room refurbishment in 2025.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
The following notice is posted for Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
From January 2025 through April 2025, Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. During daytime hours, guests may see or hear construction work. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim in the Duck Pond Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

The following notices are posted for Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
Pool Closure
From January 2026 until late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports will continue to be available. Additionally, Guests are welcome to use the other pools throughout Disney’s All-Star Resorts, including the Calypso Pool, Piano Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort; and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
Refurbishment Dates: January 2026 to April 2026

Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort
From early April 2025 through the end of January 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment. During this time, guests may see or hear construction work in the area.

Disney’s refurbishment schedule is often extensive and continually ongoing. With this many resort hotels, constant refurbishment is inevitable. Although many amenities remain available at most resorts, guests can almost always expect some construction noise during the day.
