Disney’s Boardwalk Late May 2024 Updates (Cake Bake Sign, Facade Paint, and More)
As we approach the summer, things are rolling along with Disney’s Boardwalk. It appears that we will be able to enjoy both cake and corn dogs sooner rather than later, which is much more than we could have hoped for this time last year. Speaking of last year, our Boardwalk construction timeline has gotten so long that it’s become difficult to update. Moving forward, any updates we provide will be in new posts like this one. You can reference the old timeline to see before and after photos of things that have already taken place.
The photos from this visit are all from Memorial Day Weekend. We visited the Boardwalk on Friday afternoon, and I was surprised to find the entire area almost empty. However, we returned Saturday evening and found it packed. Presumably, the holiday crowds rolled in the night before.
We’ll start with the most anticipated news. The Cake Bake Shop signage has been installed. It still looks like one sign might be over the grab-and-go portion of the shop, and the other entrance will be for the restaurant. Of course, that’s only speculation on my part, and I’ve been wrong before.
Regardless, the signage is beautiful, gold, and elegant. It looks pretty when the sun hits it in the evening. Does it go with the look and feel of the Boardwalk? I don’t think so. Disney’s Boardwalk is a boisterous place. So we will see.
We took photos of the signage for the Corn Dog stand the day it was installed (the first week of May). It’s hard to tell the status, but maybe soon?
It looks like it’s ready to go from the outside.
More new wood slats have been installed along the Boardwalk.
Everything looks good.
The Crest o’ the Wave facade is being repainted. I would expect this area of scaffolding to come down within the next week or so.
Lastly, we saw another new paint job for one of the Disney FriendShips. This one reminded me of a Mallard duck.
Hopefully, you enjoyed this mini-construction update for Disney’s Boardwalk. We love this resort and know many of our readers enjoy hearing about it when they’re away. I’m sure it’s a place some of you think of as a second home.
