Everything Towels at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
If you’re planning a trip to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll likely wonder whether you’ll need towels. Thankfully, towel rentals are available to off-site guests, and complimentary towels are provided to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests. If you’re visiting from off-site, towel rentals are $2.00 each. You can pick up towels at Singapore Sal’s, the water park’s gift shop. It’s the first building on the right when you enter the park before you get to the lockers.
How Disney Water Parks Operate
It’s important to note that Disney’s water parks operate on a rotational schedule. Blizzard Beach is typically open between early November and March, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open between March and November. You’ll want to check the exact hours and availability for your visit.
The towels are usually on the far left side when you walk inside the gift shop. The cast member at the register can check your MagicBand, Keys to the World card, or My Disney Experience app to verify you’re a resort hotel guest. If so, they will provide as many towels as you need. Anyone else has to pay the $2.00 rental charge. Towels might also be available at High n’ Dry Gifts, on the opposite side of the lockers. When finished, return the towel to the bins outside the restrooms and changing areas.
The towels are the same solid white ones used at every Disney Resort hotel pool. If you need to pay to rent a towel, you’ll want to consider when you’ll use it. We probably wouldn’t rent one until right before lunch. That way, we could dry off a bit before enjoying a meal. Of course, we usually drive to the water parks and bring our towels. We always rent a locker to store our towels and other personal items.
After that, you’ll only need your water park shoes. You likely won’t need a towel or anything else while experiencing attractions. It’s so nice to take a break from your phone! You also don’t have to worry about scrolling for Lightning Lanes all day! And you probably won’t want to take your towel to the Surf Pool unless you plan to sit on one of the nearby beaches. Your towel and other items will get soaked if you sit remotely near the water.
Lastly, it has been my experience that, toward the end of the day, cast members will often let anyone pick up a towel without having to rent one. While this is not guaranteed, you can always wait until later in the day to check. As a resort guest, I tend to grab a towel before lunch and put it in a towel bin. Then, I’ll get a fresh towel before it’s time to leave. So you don’t have to carry the same towel all day.
