Locker Rentals at Typhoon Lagoon (Everything You Need to Know)
We wouldn’t visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon without renting a locker. It’s the first thing we do upon arrival and an essential part of the planning process for the water park. Lockers provide a safe and reasonably sizable space to store valuables. The last thing you want is to set up camp in one spot and leave someone in your group in charge of everything. That’s not fair to Mom!
Below, we’ll discuss renting a locker at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, including the locker’s location, pricing, and size. The locker area is immediately on the right when you enter the park, past Singapore Sal’s, the gift shop. Locker rentals can be purchased from the self-service kiosks on the exterior wall of the gift shop. If you have any trouble scanning your card, ask a cast member inside Singapore Sal’s, and they can assist you.
Lockers come in two sizes: standard and large. We’ll preview both sizes below so you can decide. Here is a photo of the locker rental kiosk’s home screen. You can select your language to start.

How Disney Water Parks Operate
It’s important to note that Disney’s water parks operate differently and each one closes for a yearly refurbishment period. You’ll want to check exact hours and availability based on your travel dates. The water parks may close on days when colder temperatures are forecasted.
The next screen will prompt you to select a size. Small lockers cost $10.00, and larger ones cost $15.00. The screen indicates that a standard locker holds one backpack and a large one accommodates two.

After selecting a size, you’ll be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN to access your locker and swipe your credit card to pay for it. The kiosk will provide a receipt with your locker number on it. From there, you’ll turn around and locate your locker. As you can see from the photo below, plenty of lockers are available.

We’ll look at the larger lockers first. The section below is comprised of large lockers.

When I have my cooler, I always rent the larger size. I bring a couple of sodas and bottled water. It slides easily into the locker.

My backpack with towels fits on top of the cooler. We also have enough room for two pairs of shoes. But at that point, it’s pretty tight. (Note that you cannot bring loose ice into the parks. So, if you bring a cooler with ice, the ice must be in sealed storage bags.)

For comparison, here is the standard-size locker. I rent this type of locker when I bring my refillable mug instead of a cooler. (See Refillable Mugs at Typhoon Lagoon to learn more.)

Maybe one day I’ll bring a measuring tape to measure the actual size. This is my book bag, which holds a towel and a change of clothes. I also have room for my mug, phone, and other things.

We visit Typhoon Lagoon pretty often. In the summer, I try to visit at least once a week, even if it’s just for a few hours. I’m not the type of person who likes to spend extra money on things. That said, I always rent a locker. It just makes things simple. I don’t have to worry about my car keys or other valuables while looping the lazy river. It’s also nice to store your phone for the day. You can always get it out and check it if needed.
Overall, the price of renting a locker is money well spent. I would go so far as to say it’s a non-negotiable, so make sure to include it in your budget! For more on the water park, you might enjoy:
