TriceraTop Spin Ride
Nearly all small children will want to take a turn on TriceraTop Spin, and that goes for big kids like me, too. A little side note: before we became Resorts Gal, this site’s original name came from my love for spinning. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride was the first attraction my son rode on his first visit at the age of three. Needless to say, those memories of him are near and dear to my heart.
Tricera Top Spin is located in the heart of Dinoland, U.S.A, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This area is part of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, a carnival-themed section. The entire area looks like one of those stops on a road trip where kids see the billboards far in advance. You know, the ones where they keep begging to stop, and there are probably a million reasons why you shouldn’t.
That’s Dinoland. It’s intentionally themed to give off this vibe. And it does have a bit of charm if you like faux dinosaurs or anything related to their prehistoric past!
Tricera Top Spin doesn’t have a Lightning Lane. However, wait times are usually relatively low for this attraction at most any time of day. Each ride vehicle is shaped like a Triceratops dinosaur. Trixie, the Triceratops, sits in front of the attraction, balancing a ball on the tip of her nose.
As for the seating, two guests are allowed per row and four per dino. The back row offers a joystick that allows you to adjust going up or down. The front row offers a mechanism to tilt the vehicle forward or backward. The backseat has a more extensive range of motion, so most children will want to ride there. But, unfortunately, the front seat doesn’t offer much difference in the tilt.
You’ll likely notice a loud, glaring pop song playing as you liftoff. Most of the songs are popular, so you can sing along while soaring over Dinoland.
As always, let me remind you that this type of attraction is the most fun for the appropriate age groups. When you get older, it’s not always easy to see that these are the bright and shiny things that children love.
