Miss Adventure Falls at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon (A Family Raft Ride)
Miss Adventure Falls is a family raft ride at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. While it opened some time ago, it remains the park’s newest attraction. The ride fits into the theming of the rest of Typhoon Lagoon, where Captain Mary Oceaneer, a treasure hunter, was caught in a typhoon. Most of her treasure was scattered across the island!
As you take the conveyor belt to the top of this fast-moving whitewater voyage, you’ll see some of that treasure along the way. You might even catch a glimpse of Duncan, the talking parrot, Captain Mary’s old diving partner! He’s likely hunting for treasure.
Below, we’ll discuss the specifics of experiencing Miss Adventure Falls, including wait times, requirements, and the best times to ride this popular attraction. This attraction is similar to Teamboat Springs at Disney’s Blizzard Beach. However, the Typhoon Lagoon raft ride has a little bit of a bonus that you won’t get at Disney’s sister water park. (We’ll get to that.)
Miss Adventure Falls is immediately past Crush ‘n’ Gusher. For those unfamiliar, both thrill attractions are near the front of the park. You’ll find them along the walkway beyond the locker area and changing rooms at the park’s entrance.
How Disney Water Parks Operate
It’s important to note that Disney’s water parks operate on a rotational schedule. Blizzard Beach is typically open between early November and March, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open between March and November. You’ll want to check the exact hours and availability for your visit.
Captain Mary Oceaneer’s diving tank sits outside the attraction.
You’ll notice a posted wait time when you enter the queue. However, you can usually see the entire line length of the line from outside the queue. I’ve seen the posted wait time as high as 40 minutes on a busy day. At that point, the line is usually spilling outside the queue.
We’ve never had to wait longer than 20 to 25 minutes when the line reaches the end of the queue. Several factors come into play that you might consider. For starters, the raft ride requires a minimum of two riders per raft. If you’re a single rider, don’t worry. A cast member will load you on a raft with someone else.
When my son and I visit the park, they’ve always let us ride by ourselves. But if a single rider were near us, they would have added that person to our raft. Each raft holds up to four riders.
Since multiple riders are boarding each raft, the line tends to move quicker than if there were only one person per raft. Another consideration is that lines at the water parks are a little more spread out than at the theme parks. Everyone is typically wet and respects each other’s space. No one wants to feel like they’re standing on top of each other at a water park. Therefore, the line is usually not as long as it looks.
Miss Adventure Falls does not have a height requirement. However, every guest must be able to sit correctly in the raft and hold both handles. Per the signage outside the attraction:
Follow the adventures of Captain Mary Oceaneer aboard a family raft ride featuring rushing rapids, and enclosed slide flume, and treasures around every twist and turn. For saftey, you should be in good health and free from heart conditions, back or neck problems, or other condition aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride. No infants.

While waiting to ride Miss Adventure Falls, you’ll encounter more signs with directions on how to board the raft. Those instructions read:
- Sit on the edge of the treasure raft.
- Swing legs over and tuck in all cargo.
- Remain seated with legs forward.
- Hold on tight.
When you reach the loading area, a cast member will hold the raft steady and allow you to turn around and sit down on the edge of the float before sliding into it. After you’re seated, grab the two handles directly behind you and hold on through the remainder of the ride.
As mentioned, this ride has an edge over Teamboat Springs at Blizzard Beach. That edge is that you load the raft at the bottom of Miss Adventure Falls. (At Teamboat Springs, you must ride the chairlift to the summit to board the raft.)
For Miss Adventure Falls, you ride a moving conveyor belt to the top of the slide.
Along the way, you’ll hear a few warnings. But, unfortunately, it’s a little late to turn around at this point! You’ll soon coast into a tunnel of rushing water as you twist and turn down the slide. Don’t be surprised if you pass under a few waterfalls on the way down. Like most water slides, it is over rather quickly. However, the conveyor belt adds a decent length and a bit of anticipation to the overall attraction.
At the end of the slide, you’ll float along until you reach a cast member. They will instruct you to climb out of the raft the same way you boarded it.
The Resorts Gal Spin on Typhoon Lagoon
We give this attraction the green light! We think it’s worth the wait! However, if you have a fear of heights, you might not love the ride up the conveyer belt. But, you will be back down the slide shortly thereafter!

Green Light
We give an attraction the green light if we consider it a must-do, regardless of the posted wait. We also give the green light for attractions we deem suitable to experience anytime. For example, some attractions have high capacities. Therefore, the lines continuously move and you shouldn’t have a long wait unless the attraction experiences downtime.
Red Light
We recommend checking the posted wait times for red light attractions. Then, make a quick judgment call on whether to wait, skip it, or return later. We also red light some attractions that we feel might not be suitable based on our experience.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Miss Adventure Falls is a fun attraction for the entire family. We usually ride it multiple times during our visits. Since the attraction is immediately next to Crush ‘N’ Gusher, I recommend alternating rides between the two first thing in the morning. You can learn more about how we tour the parks on our one-day touring plan for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Additionally, the wait times are usually non-existent for most attractions later in the day. Check this attraction during the last two hours of park operation to get in a few extra rides.
