The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a spinner attraction that lifts guests in their flying carpet and spins them around the area. This attraction is based on the animated movie Aladdin. Similar rides include Dumbo, the Flying Elephant in Storybook Circus, and TriceraTop Spin at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The queue for The Magic Carpets of Aladdin wraps around the attraction. During the busier portion of the day, this attraction often has long waits.
In most cases, you can gauge the length of the line. However, with the addition of a separate Lightning Lane, some guests will continuously bypass those waiting in the standby queue. Unfortunately, this attraction does not offer a single-rider line.
Each Magic Carpet has two rows. The front seat has a lever that you can adjust to make the carpet fly up and down. A magic scarab on the back seat allows guests to tilt the carpet back and forth. Whoever rides in the front row will have the most control.
Once seated, a cast member will come by and make sure everyone has secured the seatbelt-style restraint. After that, the carpets will lift into the air. At that time, you can adjust and fly your carpet as you like. Be careful, though! A pair of camels sit outside the ride. One is known to spit water toward unsuspecting guests on the ride.
It’s not enough to do any damage, but it’s pretty hilarious for children. My bunch always enjoys making me sit on the outside. Then they purposely adjust our magic carpet so I’ll get wet. They get such a kick out of it, and I can’t help but laugh myself.
You’ll spin around the magic lamp for a minute to ninety seconds before your carpet returns to the ground. Then you’ll exit near the Agrabah Bazaar.
Fun Fact:
The camels surrounding Aladdin’s Magic Carpets were originally part of Aladdin’s Royal Caravan Parade, an entertainment offering at Disney-MGM Studios (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) in the nineties.

The Resorts Gal Spin on the Magic Carpets
We’re going to give the Magic Carpets of Aladdin the red light! We love this attraction but don’t think it’s worth more than a 10-15 minute. However, if you have small children, we’ll make an exception. Our best advice, though, is to return later in the day for lower wait times if that works for your touring plan! For a unique spin, ride it in the evening when wait times are typically at their lowest.

Green Light
We give an attraction the green light if we consider it a must-do, regardless of the posted wait. We also give the green light for attractions we deem suitable to experience anytime. For example, some attractions have high capacities. Therefore, the lines continuously move and you shouldn’t have a long wait unless the attraction experiences downtime.
Red Light
We recommend checking the posted wait times for red light attractions. Then, make a quick judgment call on whether to wait, skip it, or return later. We also red light some attractions that we feel might not be suitable based on our experience.
