Lightning Lane Premier Pass Expands to All Guests Visiting Walt Disney World
Disney has announced that the Lightning Lane Premier Pass pilot at Walt Disney World will expand to all guests. Previously, the Premier Pass was only available to guests staying in deluxe resorts. Later last year, it was expanded to include all guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. Now, all guests visiting Walt Disney World can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass starting tomorrow, January 21, 2025. Per Disney:
Beginning January 21, Walt Disney World Resort will expand the Lightning Lane Premier Pass pilot to all Guests. Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels will be eligible to purchase up to 7 days before the first day of their Resort stay—and other Guests will be eligible to purchase up to 3 days in advance of their park visit.

To clarify:
Guests of the following Walt Disney World Resorts and select hotels can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass 7 days before the day they check in to their resort for the length of their stay (up to 14 days). Those hotels are:
- Disney Resort Hotels
- Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
- Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
- Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
- Shades of Green Resort
Those not staying at a Disney Resort can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass up to 3 days ahead. Disney outlines the following timelines based on ticket type:
- Guests with date-based theme park tickets (which require the guest to choose a start date at the time of purchase) can purchase 3 days before the first day of their ticket for the total number of valid admission days on their ticket.
- Guests with other ticket types can purchase 3 days before their park visit.
- Annual Passholders can purchase 3 days before their park visit.
