Ketchakiddee Creek at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Ketchakiddee Creek is a dedicated attraction at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon for children under 48″ tall. It features an aquatic play area, shallow pools, mini water slides, and more! Below, we’ll preview a few photos of Ketchakiddee Creek. It’s a delightful area for the little ones to splash around in!
Ketchakiddee Creek is on the left-hand side of Typhoon Lagoon, tucked neatly behind the wave pool and lazy river. If you’re taking the lazy river, you’ll exit at South Shore Landing. Since the attraction sits toward the back of the park, the area offers privacy and minimal foot traffic. Its location is ideal for those visiting with children. Below is a photo showing where Ketchakiddee Creek sits behind the lazy river. You’ll exit the lazy river at the next landing on the right. Then, cross a bridge over it to get to the aquatic play area.
A sizable water playground with plenty of splash elements and miniature slides sits toward the front.
A cave with a waterfall sits toward the back of Ketchakiddee Creek.
The S.S. Squirt is a leaky tugboat with a fun water spray cannon. Children can climb aboard and take their best aim.
Here’s a look inside the cave. On the opposite side of the cave, you’ll find a long row of loungers in the shade.
Ketchakiddee Creek has several play areas for kids of varying ages. The space below offers a less crowded mini slide and splash area.
However, the most unique element of the entire area is this miniature water raft ride for children. A child can board a small, yellow innertube and enjoy the raft ride.
Here’s a look at the path.
Again, you must be 48″ or less to ride this attraction. You’ll sit your child inside the innertube. These tubes have a bottom instead of the typical donut cut-out.
The current will take children around a small, level maze. Surprisingly, the current moves reasonably fast. Then, it drops you back off at the end. I noticed that most parents help their children get started, walk around, and meet them at the end.
Here are a few photos of the exit point.
An additional body slide is available toward the center of Ketchakiddee Creek. Here are a few more photos of the entire area.
