Menu Items: | Price |
Avocado Toast with Marinated Toy Box Tomatoes on Toasted Ciabatta (plant-based, Garden Graze item | $6.00 |
Shrimp and Grits: Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Cheese Grits with Brown Gravy and Sweet Corn Salsa | $7.25 |
Lox Benedict on Everything Focaccia with Everything-Spiced Cream Cheese, Shallots, Crispy Capers, and Hollandaise | $7.50 |
Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites with Cream Cheese Frosting and Candied Bacon | $4.75 |

Peach Bellini | $11.00 |
Joffrey’s Coffee™ Cold Brew Cocktail with Milk, Kahlúa Rum and Coffee Liqueur, and Vanilla Vodka | $10.50 |
Lox Benedict: This dish was one of the best at the festival. The lox was fresh, and the egg was perfectly poached.
Expect rich layers starting with a Focaccia base slathered in cream cheese. Next comes the arugula, which adds a peppery kick. Then there’s the lox topped off with a poached egg, buttery Hollandaise, and bagel seasoning. A sprig of dill appropriately provides a bit of garnish.
Epcot’s Farmer’s Feast
Epcot’s Farmers Feast Outdoor Kitchen Menu
Menu Items: Early Bloom Menu (March 1 to April 8) | Price |
Chilled Potato and Leek Soup “Vichyssoise” with Bacon Lardons, Potato Croutons, Chive Oil, and Crispy Leeks (gluten/wheat-friendly) | $5.00 |
Chargrilled Bison Ribeye with Creamy Leek Fondue, Red Wine Butter Sauce, and Whipped Red Wine Goat Cheese | $8.25 |
Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Icing, Candied Pecans, and Parsnip | $4.50 |
Beverages: | |
Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail | $11.50 |
Collective Arts Brewing Blueberry Elderberry Sparkling Hard Tea, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada | $5.50 |
Ghost Mary: Translucent Bloody Mary with Boyd & Blair Cucumber Vodka, Tomato Water, Horseradish, Celery Salt, and a hint of Pepper | $11.50 |
Farmer’s Feast has one good-looking menu. Unfortunately, none of the items at this outdoor kitchen exceeded our expectations.
Chargrilled Bison Ribeye: Bison is a lean cut of meat. It doesn’t have nearly the fat you would find in regular beef. As far as cooking goes, it can be easily overcooked. My serving of bison looked like it was the perfect medium. Unfortunately, it was chewy and tough. That purple foam is the whipped red wine goat cheese. It was rather tasty if you like the twang of goat cheese. I do. However, the color was not appealing, considering this was an entree item.
Vichyssoise (Chilled Potato and Leek Soup): There’s nothing like chilled soup on a warm Spring day, and there’s also nothing like a bowl full of sodium disguised as chilled soup. Unfortunately, after two to three bites, this one went straight to the trash can. It was so salty that I couldn’t distinguish the flavor profile underneath.
Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Icing: If you’re looking for a dessert to share, this spice cake might be the way to go. However, I found this an interesting dish that left me a little unsure. When I think of spice cake, I don’t necessarily relate it to carrot cake. After cutting inside, I realized this was carrot cake, except it was made with grated parsnips instead of carrots.
Then, the cake was drowning in cream cheese icing. Cream cheese icing is rich and one of those things that will raise your blood sugar on contact. The ingredients are usually butter, cream cheese, and confectioners’ sugar.
So, I scraped some of the cream cheese off and tried the cake. Surprisingly, the cake was bland, with no real spice or the slightest hint of sugar. However, when paired with the cream cheese, you get the balance. This is not a dessert I would order again.
Magnolia Terrace
Magnolia Terrace Outdoor Kitchen Menu
Menu Item: | Price |
Muffuletta Panini with Ham, Salami, Mortadella, Provolone, and Swiss with Olive Salad | $6.00 |
Spicy Chicken Gumbo with Andouille Sausage and BEN’S ORIGINAL™ Long Grain and Wild Rice | $6.25 |
Crawfish Pie | $6.75 |
Bananas Foster Bread Pudding | $4.75 |
Beverages: | Price: |
Bayou Cocktail: Bayou Spiced Rum, Coconut Rum, Fruit Punch, and Orange Juice | $12.00 |
Central 28 Beer Co. Pretty Things Ale, Debary, FL | $5.50 $9.50 |
Wicked Weed Brewing Day Light American Light Ale, Asheville, NC | $5.50 $9.50 |
Parish Brewing Co. Ghost in the Machine Double IPA, Broussard, LA | $5.50 $9.50 |
Beer Flight | $10.00 |
Magnolia Terrace is offering four menu items this year. So, we will narrow it down and look at the two I thought sounded most interesting. Not that the crawfish pie didn’t sound appealing. It’s just already so hot out this season that it’s hard to think about eating a pot pie-style dish at nearly 90 degrees. We went with the Muffuletta panini and the Banana Foster bread pudding.
Muffuletta: The panini is like a charcuterie platter on sandwich bread. It contains three kinds of cold cuts and two types of cheese and is topped with an olive salad. If you like olives with peppers, cornichons, and other things in the mix, you’ll love this sandwich. Be warned: The peppers chopped up in the olive salad give it an unexpected kick of spiciness.
Banana Foster Bread Pudding: As bad as I hate to admit it, I did not care for this bread pudding dessert. It’s a bread pudding made from banana bread with a caramel pudding sauce. My main issue with the dish was that my bread pudding was undercooked. Additionally, the sauce was almost like a paste or gravy. It wasn’t working for me, but it might have been the portion I received. Unfortunately, this is another dish that went straight to the trash after a few bites.

Drop what you’re doing and head straight to the Citrus Blossom! I’m not kidding.
This citrus-baked Brie was the best thing we tried at this year’s Flower and Garden Festival. When I ordered it, I thought it was going to be a simple dish of cheese with nuts and berries. But there was nothing simple about it. My Brie was wrapped in a shell of puffed pastry. Lemon marmalade was delicately drizzled over it, and Marcona almonds and blueberries accompanied it.
I now understand why Paddington Bear carries his marmalade everywhere. This sauce was lemon-y, sweet, and still managed to have acidity. As I leaned closer to inspect the sauce, I noticed small bites of Meyer lemon rind. This dish is the real deal. Next time, I’ll take two, please.

Cucumber Watermelon Slushy with Gin | $4.75 |
Sometimes, you win, and sometimes, you lose. At this year’s Florida Fresh outdoor kitchen, we had a little of both.
Watermelon Salad: For starters, this watermelon salad is fabulous. However, I imagine that those of us who like balsamic vinegar already know whether or not we like it on fruit. That’s what you have here. This dish is a refreshing mixture of watermelon, pickled onions, blueberries, arugula, and feta cheese. It’s topped with a Balsamic dressing.
FYI–if you’re only looking for fresh watermelon, you can pick up an order at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the American Pavilion. A side is almost $5.00, but it’s a sizeable serving.
Florida Strawberry Shortcake: There’s a well-known saying that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. That’s the case with this strawberry shortcake. Unfortunately, the biscuit was tough, and whoever made the filling forgot to add sweetener. As I watched this dish being prepared, I was excited to try it. A cast member put two hearty scoops of whipped topping inside the biscuit.
But it was bland. Additionally, there were hardly any strawberries. This serving didn’t even have the equivalent of two whole berries.

Cristal Margarita: 100% Agave Tequila Blanco, Ilegal Mezcal Joven, Clarified Lemon Juice and Orange Liqueur in a souvenir cup | $16.00 |
Craft Mexican Lager | $5.50 $9.50 |
I’m always surprised by the dishes in Mexico’s outdoor kitchen. You may remember they have an outstanding bread pudding during Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. Unfortunately, during this year’s Flower and Garden Festival, there were no dessert options, so we decided to try the Taco Vampiro.
Taco Vampiro: This was delicious. Inside, the taco is stuffed with Barbacoa beef. Usually, my hesitation for shredded beef is the brininess. But this was perfect, with only a hint of twang and a smoky flavor. Additionally, the corn salsa added the perfect amount of heat. This is another dish I would order on a return visit.

Twinings Iced Green Tea with Cranberry and Lime with Hanger 1 Makrut Lime Vodka served in a Mason Jar | $11.50 |
If you’re interested in trying plant-based meat products, Trowel and Trellis is a good place to do so. However, this year, we decided to stick with green tea and cake.
Chocolate Cake: If you enjoy raspberries and chocolate, you’ll love this dish. It comes with a scoop of ice cream on the side topped with a mixed berry compote. My only issue with the dish was that the cake was rather dry, but it still had a nice flavor. Overall, this might be the way to go if you’re in the mood for chocolate. But I wished I had tried the brownie tart at Fleur De Lys.
Twinings® Iced Green Tea with Cranberry and Lime: This iced green tea was another favorite item from the festival. It served as a much-needed refreshment that wasn’t too sweet. Another option combines this tea with vodka and is served in a Mason jar. If you’re looking for something a little more substantial, you might consider it.

Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine, St Petersburg, FL | $6.50 |
Honey-Peach Freeze with Blueberry Vodka | $12.50 |
Pollinator Flatbread with Honey Whipped Mascarpone: The Honey Bee-stro is known for its award-winning honey mascarpone cheesecake. But this year, I wanted to try something different. So I ordered the Pollinator Flatbread with honey-whipped mascarpone.
While this dish had an exquisite presentation, it ultimately failed in flavor. First, there were way too many onions—so many that I thought I had ordered an onion tart. After a bite or two, I scraped off most of the onions. Unfortunately, what was left was okay. But nothing stood out, and I found it pretty dull.
