Disney Junior Play & Dance Overview
The Disney Junior Play and Dance is geared toward younger guests, but school-age children will likely enjoy the show. Fans of the following Disney Junior favorites are the target audience.
- Mickey and the Roadster Racers
- Vampirina
- The Lion Guard
- Doc McStuffins
Believe me, if your children watch any of these Disney Junior cartoons, they will love this dance party, and parents, you will be happy for the break. Plus, it’s a lot of fun. The Disney Junior Play and Dance still has the formal “Disney Junior Dance Party” name on the signage. However, the show’s latest version has been around for a few years. The former high-energy Disney Junior show had a duration of 25 minutes. This new dance party show lasts approximately 10 minutes. Therefore, it’s not a huge investment of your time.
The show’s entrance is at the back of the Animation Courtyard near Star Wars Launch Bay. It’s the last area in a lineup of Disney Junior character meet-and-greets, where Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, Pluto, and Vampirina all have formal meet-and-greets.
Below is a list of the showtimes for the dance party. These showtimes should be pretty standard. But you’ll want to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for the exact timing.
Disney Junior Play and Dance offers a standby line and a Lightning Lane. Most days, the longest wait will be for the next performance to begin.
The waiting area is outdoors. We typically wouldn’t get in line until close to the next showtime.
When the doors open, guests are allowed inside. Cast members encourage everyone to find a seat on the open carpet.
Benches surround the room’s perimeter. They are a good option if you have someone in your party who might have trouble getting back up from the floor.
The show’s host, DJ Deejay, comes out to greet everyone at the start of the fun-filled party.
Screens are positioned overhead in various areas around the dance floor. Your family might appear on the big screen from time to time. So make sure to show off your best dance moves!
Vampirina, everyone’s favorite vampire girl, is the first character to join the stage. She invites guests to get down and boogie for a feel-good musical number.
Guests can join Vampirina as she dances to the beat of her favorite Disney Junior tunes.
After Vampirinia’s dance number, Doc McStuffins comes out to greet everyone. She’s got one catchy number to cure your dance fever!
After Doc McStuffin’s number, Timon from The Lion Guard appears on stage. He has some hula dancing moves that you have to see!
Finally, all the way from Hot Dog Hills, the one and only Mickey Mouse appears on stage!
He’s the best! He joins the party for a song and dance. You may notice in some of the pictures that kids are up dancing while others stay put on the floor. I imagine this is the case with most shows. Everyone is encouraged to participate, but there is no pressure to sit on the sidelther.
At the end of the show, everyone’s favorite characters rejoin the stage for a surprise finale!
Get ready to catch bubbles! They soon drop from the ceiling.
He’s the best!
Before we wrap up, I wanted to mention that these things sometimes bring wonderful, unexpected memories. Disney is kind of a place you can let your hair down and be a kid again.
