Disney Drops Virtual Queues for Two Popular Attractions at Walt Disney World
Disney has announced they are dropping virtual queues for both Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. Per the Walt Disney World website, starting February 25th, 2025 a standby queue will be available and a virtual queue will no longer be offered for these two rides.
This is great news for anyone who wants to experience either attraction. You will no longer be required to secure a virtual queue at select times. The current virtual queue system works like a lottery where guests are required to be on their phones at certain times of the day for a chance to secure a time slot. Starting February 25th any guest (with valid admission) can join the standby queue with no additional requirements.
Guests who want to skip-the-line will still be able to purchase Lightning Lanes for either attraction based on availability. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a Single Pass Lightning Lane at Epcot, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a selection with Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Magic Kingdom.
Disney notes that guests can always check the My Disney Experience app for virtual queue updates moving forward. Per Disney:
Virtual queues continue to be helpful with the launch of popular attractions and the debut of new experiences and offerings, so we may use them again from time to time for select experiences in the future.
At this time, no other attractions at Walt Disney World have a virtual queue requirement. So it will be one less thing guests have to worry about. This is great news for those of us who like to sleep late or not feel restricted to a strict schedule!
