Disney Changes Pre-Arrival Conversation Timeline for Disability Access Service
Disney has not only tweaked changes to the language of their Disability Access Service policy (DAS) earlier this week, but they’ve also updated the timeline for when guests can schedule their pre-arrival interview. Previously, Disney’s website stated that DAS was intended to ONLY accommodate guests who, due to developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time. The word “only” has been removed from the policy statement, possibly suggesting more discretion on Disney’s part. Here’s the new wording on Disney’s website:
DAS is intended to accommodate those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time.

Additionally, Disney has changed the pre-arrival conversation timeline from 30 days to 60 days in advance. Per Disney:
Guests can meet virtually with a Cast Member using live video chat to determine what services may be appropriate to support their visit to the theme parks, including DAS.
You may have a pre-arrival conversation as soon as 60 days in advance of a park visit.
There is not an in-person option to request DAS registration, but Guests who do not register in advance can participate in a live video conference on the day of their visit.

This will give guests a longer time frame ahead of their vacation to see if they qualify for Disability Access Service and make plans based on the outcome.
