3 Ways to Celebrate Chalk Art at the 2025 Epcot International Festival of the Arts
When I think of visiting the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, the first thing that comes to mind is seeing the live artists working to create stunning yet temporary chalk art galleries. I consider this a must-do, and I often go out of my way to see the progression of the unique pieces several times each visit. If you’re a fan of this medium, you’re in luck. The festival offers three ways to celebrate chalk art. In addition to the galleries, guests can search for chalk characters hidden throughout the World Showcase. Those with children might also enjoy participating by creating their own chalk art masterpieces!
Chalk Art Galleries
The Chalk Art Galleries are along the bridge that leads from World Celebration to World Showcase Plaza. This is the long walkway with planters filled with Crepe Myrtles, where the monorail passes through the park’s center. Throughout the day, guests can watch as chalk artists work. You can expect anything from reproductions of famous oil paintings to favorite Disney characters. Here are a few photos from previous festivals.
Occasionally, an artist will create an incredible 3D chalk art sketch toward the end of one of the walkways. If so, they will mark off a standing point with instructions. If you look at it the right way, the art comes to life as though you could step right into it.
Chalk Full of Characters
Those who love exploring will want to look for Chalk Full of Characters, chalk drawings of Disney characters throughout the World Showcase. Some drawings are in not-so-subtle locations where everyone can find them, while others might be a little more challenging. But who doesn’t love a good scavenger hunt?
Here are a few photos from previous festivals.
Kids Chalk Art
Children can enjoy participating in chalk art at the Kids’ Chalk Art area on the bridge to the World Showcase Plaza. This activity is offered daily between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. throughout the festival. It is adjacent to the chalk art galleries.
Who knows? You might have an aspiring artist in your family. If so, you’ll also want to check out this year’s Animation Academy (a fun and free sketch class) and the 2025 Paint-By-Numbers Mural, where guests paint tiny squares that become a tremendous mural when finished.
