Locker Rentals at Disney’s Blizzard Beach (Everything You Need to Know)
When we arrive at Disney’s Blizzard Beach, the first thing we do is rent a locker. We wouldn’t visit either of Walt Disney World’s water parks without renting one. The last thing you want is to set up camp in one spot and leave someone in your group in charge of everything, and you probably wouldn’t want to just leave your items lying around.
Below, we’ll discuss renting a locker at Disney’s Blizzard Beach, including locations, pricing, and sizes. The locker area is to the right after you pass the gift shop. It’s near the park’s primary restrooms and changing areas. Locker rentals can be purchased from a row of self-service kiosks. If you have trouble scanning your card, ask a cast member at Snowless Joe’s for assistance. (Snowless Joe’s is a nearby stand with towel rentals, beverages, and other conveniences.)
How Disney Water Parks Operate
It’s important to note that Disney’s water parks operate on a rotational schedule. Blizzard Beach is typically open between early November and March, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open between March and November. You’ll want to check the exact hours and availability for your visit.
Lockers come in two sizes: standard or large. The screens can be difficult to see depending on the time of day you arrive. They have a cover to help protect them from sun damage.
Small lockers cost $10.00, and larger ones are $15.00. The screen indicates that a standard locker holds one backpack, and a large one accommodates two. After selecting a size, you’ll be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN to access your locker. Then, you’ll finish by swiping a credit card to pay for it. After completing the transaction, you’ll receive a receipt with your locker number.
As you can see, the park has plenty of lockers. This is just one section.
When I’m by myself, I almost always rent a small locker. It’s large enough to hold my backpack, which usually has a change of clothes and a book, my water park refillable mug, a towel, and a pair of shoes.
Here is a photo of my bag in the smaller locker. You can see I still have room to add a few items.
If I bring my cooler or am visiting with family, we always rent a large locker. It’s big enough to hold the cooler, a backpack, and two pairs of shoes. But at that point, it is pretty tight. However, we always have room for everything. (Note that you cannot bring loose ice into the parks. So, if you bring a cooler with ice, the ice must be in sealed storage bags.)
We visit Blizzard Beach a couple of times a year, not nearly as much as Typhoon Lagoon, primarily because of its seasonal operation. But I want to note that I’m not the type of person who likes to spend extra money on things. That said, I always rent a locker. It makes things simple. I don’t have to worry about my car keys or other valuables while looping the lazy river or floating in the wave pool. It’s also nice to store your phone for the day. You can always stop by the locker and check it if needed.
Overall, the price of renting a locker is money well spent. I would go so far as to say it’s a non-negotiable, so make sure to include it in your budget! For more on the water park, you might enjoy:
