Beach Haus and Sand Breakers (What You’ll Find at These Blizzard Beach Gift Shops)
Disney’s Blizzard Beach has a gift shop called Beach Haus near the park’s entrance. This is the primary place to pick up something you might have forgotten or browse water park-related merchandise. In addition to Beach Haus, the park offers a secondary kiosk called Sand Breakers, which provides a quick place to stop and pick up a souvenir, umbrella, or toy. Both locations are pretty close to the front of the park.
Below, we’ll browse a few photos of what you can expect to find during your visit. As with all of our gift shop posts, specific items may be unavailable when you visit. The idea of this post is to provide you with an overview of the types of items you can expect to find. For instance, if you forget to bring your child’s pair of goggles, the gift shop sells them. So you can purchase another pair even though you probably already have half a dozen pairs lying around your house back home. (It’s the one thing we always forgot to bring when my son was growing up. We had a basket full of them in our utility room!)
Beach Haus is on the immediate left when you first enter the park. In addition to shopping, you can also reserve Polar Patios or Lodge Umbrellas at this location. One end of the shop is also a Sunglass Hut, which we’ll preview further down.
We always find a decent selection of water park-branded merchandise at Blizzard Beach. (Typhoon Lagoon is another story.)
If you collect souvenir coins, you’ll find a machine near one of the gift shop’s entrances.
I always like to browse the beach towels. On a side note, standard towels are available to rent for the day if you visit from off-site. Resort guests receive complimentary towels to use during their visit. They are the standard white towels like the ones used at the resort pools at Disney World.
One of the things I like most about Beach Haus and Singapore Sal’s at Typhoon Lagoon is the amount of available merchandise. I almost always take time to browse or shop for something.
Most of these prints are long gone, but you can see how the shop offers an excellent selection of men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel. You’ll also find plenty of swimwear. (Dressing rooms are available if you want to try on something.)
My number one must-have for a water park visit is water park shoes. You can see an entire selection on the far right. I have several pairs that I’ve found brand-new in a thrift shop, of all places. But I also had to purchase a pair for my son at Blizzard Beach a while back. If you are planning to visit a water park, I can assure you that you need water park shoes and that they will be much cheaper if you purchase them before your trip. (You probably do not want me to go into the graphic details of why you need water park shoes.)
The gift shop and kiosk will have various sand toys, shovels, and pails for children. Blizzard Beach has several sand areas where children can play.
You might purchase a waterproof case if you think you’ll need your phone all day. I purchased one a while back, and it works well. But overall, I’ve decided I prefer a break from my phone when I’m at the water park. So, I leave it in our locker rental.
Should you forget to bring it, sunscreen is available.
Pack them now, or wait until you hear, “Mom, my eyes are burning.” Cue tears. Purchase goggles.
While picking up the goggles, you might find a nice pair of sunglasses. Try not to look too hard at the Disney-branded ones. They tend to sell themselves.
Lastly, you’ll find a couple of items at Sand Breakers. (It was supposed to be Ice Breakers before the snow melted.) That red and white umbrella has been on my wish list for years. After seeing the price, you’ll see why it remains on my wish list. (I think it was $69.99 the last time I looked.)
Overall, we enjoy browsing the gift shops at Disney’s Blizzard Beach. We hope this post provided you with an idea of what to expect. It’s always good to know that something will be available should you forget it. For more on the park, you might enjoy one of the following:
