Awesome Planet at Epcot (A Resorts Gal Guide)
Awesome Planet is a 10-minute film on the upper level of The Land Pavilion at Epcot. It shares the story of life on Earth and the importance of protecting it. The film was created in partnership with the Disney Conservation Fund and contains in-theater effects like wind, scents, and water.
Narrator Ty Burrell (Realtor Phil Dunphy from Disney’s Modern Family television show) takes on his fictional real estate agent role as he tries to “sell you” on planet Earth throughout the film. The score was composed by Academy Award winner Steven Price.

Awesome Planet
Awesome Planet is the first attraction to the right when you enter The Land Pavilion. It’s the only attraction on the pavilion’s upper level. Escalators, stairs, and elevator options make it possible for guests to access lower-level attractions like Living with the Land and Soarin’.
A sign outside Awesome Planet’s entrance indicates the time remaining before the next screening. You are welcome to wait inside the theater’s lobby. While you wait, you might make a humble nod to the awe-inspiring carpeted walls.
Here’s a look inside the theater. It’s somewhat similar to Impressions de France, except the theater is staggered.
After everyone is seated, the theater darkens, and Awesome Planet runs its course.
Awesome Plant is a short film with an uplifting message that teaches the value of caring for our beautiful planet. Other than Impressions de France, I find this to be the best of the current films at Epcot. Some of the other films in the park are Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along and Canada Far and Wide.
Awesome Planet runs daily between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. We recommend seeing it at your convenience, but it’s by no means a must-do attraction. However, if you find yourself in need of a break, it’s an excellent place to cool off and relax.
We also recommend touring this area of the park on a rainy day. The Land, Seas, and Imagination Pavilions are within a short walk of each other. So you can experience a decent amount of attractions without having to deal with too much rain.
The Resorts Gal Spin on Awesome Planet
This is a fun film, but I would only stop to see it under certain circumstances. For instance, if it’s raining, this is an excellent place to kill some time, especially if you’ve already ridden Soarin’ and Living with the Land. I would also stop if you’re with someone who needs a break. You can relax in the air-conditioned theater and let everyone get refreshed.
