Doing Laundry at Walt Disney World (A List of Every Facility and FAQs)

Unfortunately, many of us end up at our resort’s laundry facility during a week-long trip to Walt Disney World. Those reasons range from acquiring a random stain the night before at that character meal (that cost way more than you expected) to recycling your vacation wardrobe because you packed light to avoid luggage fees.

Rest assured, I have never fallen into the latter category. But I do fall into one specific category of laundry-doers on vacation: the one that can’t deal with having dirty laundry pile up in the room after two days. Oddly enough, doing laundry on vacation can be a bit of a stress reliever. After standing in line all day in the parks and getting packed into a Disney bus like a can of sardines at the end of the night, you might also feel the need to complete a domestic task.

Sometimes, normalcy is comforting, and since most of the resort’s laundry rooms are near pools, why not turn that household chore into a calm, relaxing resort day? You can sleep late, enjoy a casual breakfast, start your laundry, and hit the pool. It won’t be long before you realize that you’re on vacation.

The saying goes, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” That lemonade might be a tropical drink with a tiny umbrella enjoyed poolside while you’re doing laundry.

Every resort at Walt Disney World offers laundry facilities. Many resorts offer multiple laundromats. Here is a list of the locations. Below the list, you’ll find a guide with photos for nearly every facility.

Laundry FAQs at Walt Disney World

Laundry works the same way at each Walt Disney World Resort. Below, we’ll examine a few frequently asked questions.

Can you do laundry at Walt Disney World?

Yes, every hotel at Walt Disney World offers laundry facilities, and some hotels have multiple laundry rooms.

How much does it cost to do laundry at the Disney World Hotels?

Laundry ranges between $3.25 to $3.50 per cycle at this time. So, one load of laundry costs roughly $7.00 to wash and dry. Each laundry facility has vending machines that sell laundry detergent for approximately $1.00 per packet.

How does laundry work?

Disney formerly used Laundry View. However, most of the laundromats have transitioned to the CSC GO app. You must scan the QR code and pay for each load with your mobile device. (They no longer offer a machine on the wall.)

We have done a couple of loads of laundry and found that you’ll get a small discount if you download the app. It’s also much easier to pay with the app. If you only scan the QR code and pay online without the app, you must enter your credit card details each time. So, if you have more than one load or visit Walt Disney World often, you’ll want to download the app.

The app is nice because it keeps track of your load and the time left. We used to always set a timer, but now you can open the app, and it will tell you the remaining time for each load. The photo below shows the instructions and the app information. If you know you’ll do laundry, you might want to download it before your vacation.

How long does it take to do laundry?

Most wash cycles at Walt Disney World last approximately 30 minutes, while dryer cycles average 50 minutes per load.

What kind of laundry detergent is available?

Typically, Tide laundry detergent and a free-and-clear allergy-friendly option are available. We usually use allergy-friendly detergent with a disclaimer on the package stating that it’s suitable for multiple loads. We can usually use one packet for two to three loads.

Do any hotel rooms have private laundry rooms?

A few upgraded suites at select Disney World Hotels have washers and dryers. Additionally, guests staying in a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or three-bedroom grand villa at a DVC Resort (Disney Vacation Club) will have a washer and dryer in their unit.

Guests staying in deluxe studios at Disney Vacation Club Resorts can use a dedicated laundry room free of charge. Additionally, DVC guests usually receive one complimentary detergent package. However, there is a $1.00 charge for extra detergent. (We’ve often been given an extra pack when requested at the front desk.)

How do I access the laundry room?

Most laundry rooms require a room key or magic band to access. They will have a touchpoint near the door. Once you scan your card or band, the light flashes green, and you’ll have a few seconds to open the door. Unfortunately, you cannot use your magic band to pay for laundry.

Other Laundry Services at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World-owned and operated hotel guests can take advantage of dry cleaning and valet laundry service. To schedule a pick-up, select “housekeeping” from the phone menu in your room.

Usually, these specialty services come with a high price tag. For example, you might pay $3.00 to have one pair of underwear laundered. There should be a price list available in your hotel room. More details for laundry valet service are available here on Disney’s site.

  • If you stay at Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, or Disney’s Caribbean Beach, you must drop off your laundry or dry cleaning with bell services before 9:00 a.m.

*All of the hotel rooms have an iron and ironing board available.
