Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Benefits
Disney’s Fort Wilderness guests can participate in Disney’s early theme park entry, a perk extended to all Walt Disney World Resort guests.
Early Theme Park Entry: This perk allows resort guests to enter any Walt Disney World theme park 30 minutes before officially opening to the general public. This early entry provides several advantages:
- Lower Crowds: Being among the first to enter the park allows you to experience popular attractions with shorter wait times. This will help you to check off must-see rides and experiences ahead of the crowd.
- Photography Opportunities: If you love capturing the magic of Disney, the early hours provide a fantastic opportunity for photos in front of iconic landmarks with fewer people in the background.
- Cooler Temperatures: Morning hours are often cooler, making outdoor activities more comfortable. But if you visit during cooler weather, don’t forget a jacket!
*Guests of The Cabins at Fort Wilderness (Disney’s Vacation Club) can also take advantage of the extended evening benefit offered to deluxe and deluxe villa guests.

The Pools at Disney’s Fort Wilderness: We’ve spent time at both of the resort’s pools. The feature pool is at the Meadow Recreation Area. It features an aquatic play area, a water slide, and a snack bar. This area is also home to the Bike Barn, where guests can rent bikes to explore the resort.
Transportation Options at Disney’s Fort Wilderness: Fort Wilderness offers boat and bus transportation. Many guests rent or bring their own golf carts to travel around the resort. An internal bus system is also available.
Update: Golf carts are welcome, but for the safety of everyone at the resort, guests must be prepared to present proof of insurance and sign an agreement and waiver.

Extras and Seasonal
Crockett’s Tavern: The resort’s lounge is connected to Trail’s End Restaurant and is open daily from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Stop by for a refreshment or an appetizer.
Trail’s End Restaurant: No longer a popular buffet, Trail’s End is now the resort’s quick-service restaurant. They have a variety of menu items and to-go family-style meals. You can get the same fried chicken they serve at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.
How To Get to Hoop Dee Doo Revue: We visit the Fort fairly often and have found so many guests trying to figure out how to get to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. We get it! It’s confusing. So, I was inspired to write this guide to help others feel confident about finding their way from various other locations on the property.
Christmas at Disney’s Fort Wilderness: Christmas is a wonderful time to visit Fort Wilderness. Expect lots of red bows and pine needles. The resort is lovely.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness 4th of July Golf Cart Extravaganza: If you’re privy to visiting Fort Wilderness on the 4th of July, you might like to check out the golf cart parade. It’s truly an event! We have a video below that shows what to expect.
