The Resorts Gal Guide to
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is located in the Animal Kingdom area of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. It is one of three All-Star value resorts. All-Star Sports features classic Disney characters enjoying their favorite sports. Each section of the resort is modeled after a unique sport. For example, one section features Donald Duck attempting to teach his nephews to play tennis.
1701 West Buena Vista Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
- Check-In Time: 3:00 p.m.
- Check-Out Time 11:00 a.m.
- Online Check-In is available via the My Disney Experience app.
Note: You can compare these three resorts if you like, but in some instances, the information might sound like a broken record. That’s because, other than the theming, these resorts are nearly identical down to the rooms. All three hotels sit on the same piece of property and are only separated by a parking lot. The only unique feature that stands out between the three is that All-Star Music has family suites.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Overview
When you stay at All-Star Sports, you can expect larger-than-life sports elements mixed with Disney characters spread over the resort’s grounds. Each section of the resort is modeled after a unique sport. For example, the Homerun Hotel is themed to baseball.
Sports offers bus transportation to and from the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. One sole bus stop is near the resort’s main entrance and is the only complimentary transportation available. This resort offers standard hotel rooms. The only room upgrade is a preferred room. Preferred rooms cost more because they are near the feature pool, lobby, dining, and bus stop.
All-Star Sports offers two resort pools, a kiddie pool, and a playground. A jogging trail extends the length of all three resorts and starts at the front. Nightly Movies Under the Stars are available near the main pool. The resort recreation calendar is posted in several places around the lobby and lists the movie schedule for the week.
Below, we’ll discuss rooms, amenities, dining, shopping, and transportation at Disney’s All-Star Sports. We’ve linked to other resources and articles that provide more photos and specifics where applicable. For an overall experience, our All-Star Sports Review details what it’s like to stay at the resort. We have stayed at each of the All-Star Resorts within the last year for updates.
Resort Benefits
Guests of Disney’s All-Star Sports can participate in Disney’s early theme park entry, a perk extended to all Walt Disney World Resort guests.
Early Theme Park Entry: This perk allows resort guests to enter any Walt Disney World theme park 30 minutes before officially opening to the general public. Early entry provides several advantages:
- Lower Crowds: Being among the first to enter the park allows you to experience popular attractions with shorter wait times. This will help you to check off must-see rides and experiences ahead of the crowd.
- Photography Opportunities: If you love capturing the magic of Disney, the early hours provide a fantastic opportunity for photos in front of iconic landmarks with fewer people in the background.
- Cooler Temperatures: Morning hours are often cooler, making outdoor activities more comfortable. But if you visit during cooler weather, don’t forget a jacket!
All-Star Sports Rooms
As mentioned above, there are hardly any differences between the three All-Star Resorts, including the rooms. Each resort is the same type. The sports themes are not continued in the rooms. The pull-down table bed has decorative artwork featuring Donald Duck’s nephews dreaming about movies, music, and sports. So, it works for all three resorts.
All-Star Sports has two room types: standard and preferred. Preferred rooms are in select buildings such as the Surfs Up and Touchdown! sections of the resort. They are preferred because they are close to the resort’s lobby, pool, food court, and transportation. If you want to be closer to these amenities, a room upgrade might be worth considering.
Standard guest rooms feature one queen-size bed and one queen-size pull-down bed. They also have a mini-fridge, iron, ironing board, and in-room safe. Bathrooms feature a vanity with one sink and a tub with shower combination. Accessible rooms are available. Some rooms offer a king bed.
For more details, we have an All-Star Sports Room Tour, which includes more room photos.
All-Star Sports Sections
Below, we’ve described each section at Disney’s All-Star Sports.
- Touchdown! This area is near the front of the resort. It sits on the right side of the lobby entrance, between it and the Homerun Hotel. With a name like Touchdown!, you can expect football theming. The center court is a football field with goalposts on each end.
- Surf’s Up: This area is closest to the lobby and the resort’s feature pool. The decor features giant surfboards, shark fins, and three-story lifeguard chairs wrapping the staircases. Most of the rooms in this area are preferred due to their prime location.
- Homerun Hotel: This resort section is between Touchdown! and the parking lot between Sports and Music. It has a separate pool and laundry room. The hotel building is themed to look like a baseball stadium. Goofy sits on the pitcher’s mound in the center of the pool!
- Hoops Hotel: If you love basketball, this area is for you! We almost always get this location when we stay at All-Star Sports. Our experience has been good. It has a convenient location immediately behind Surf’s Up, and we can always park our car pretty close to the room, which is a win-win! Expect backboards, hoops, nets, and giant whistles in this area!
- Center Court: Center Court is similar to Touchdown! except it is a tennis court. Donald Duck sits on one end of the court. He is waiting for his nephews to serve him the ball, but they have a few other things in mind.
All-Star Sports Dining Options
All-Star Sports has two dining options: End Zone Food Court and Grand Stand Spirits Pool Bar. End Zone is the resort’s quick-service restaurant. It’s set up like a food court, with multiple stations offering various cuisines.
The food court is open daily between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can expect items like sandwiches, pizza, burgers, pasta, and chicken nuggets for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, they have items like Mickey-shaped waffles, pancakes, breakfast platters, and other standard items.
Rapid Fill Mugs are available at the food court. We have a separate guide to refillable mugs for Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. It details the location of refill stations along with the current price and drink options.

Recreation at All-Star Sports
Disney’s All-Star Sports has two resort pools: the Surfboard Bay Pool and the Grand Slam Pool. The Surfboard Bay Pool sits immediately behind the resort’s lobby and takes up the middle courtyard of the Surf’s Up section of the resort. The entire area has a fun look, with giant surfboards surrounding it.
The resort’s secondary pool area is smaller and shaped like a baseball diamond. Some call these pools quiet or leisure pools. This pool takes up the center court of the Homerun Hotel. So, if you were staying in the Hoops Hotels, Surf’s Up, or Center Court, you probably wouldn’t want to spend time here unless you enjoyed it.
While the pools at the All-Star Resorts are fun, they are no thrills. Value resorts do not have water slides or hot tubs. However, you will find daily recreation cast members at each resort’s feature pool in the afternoons. They do a good job of getting children involved in fun activities and games like trivia or name that song.
Complimentary towels and life jackets are provided at each pool. If you would like to learn more about the pools, we have a photo post. It shares pictures of the changing areas, showers, pools, amenities, and everything you need to know for planning time at the pool.

All-Star Sports has an arcade, the Game Point Arcade. It sits inside Stadium Hall, the resort’s lobby, across from the food court. It’s a massive arcade with tons of video games and a few classics! If you find yourself at the resort on a rainy day, it’s not the worst place to hang out!
Nightly Movies Under the Stars are held near the Surfboard Bay Pool. Make sure to take a photo of the resort’s recreation calendar upon your arrival. It will list the movie schedule for each night, along with activities available during your stay. A playground is also available. It is located off a walkway leading out to the parking lot behind building six (6) of the Surf’s Up section.
Sports Goofy Gifts is the gift shop at Disney’s All-Star Sports. It’s located at Stadium Hall and has a separate entrance to the resort’s bus stop.
Laundry facilities are also available at every Walt Disney World Resort. All-Star Sports has two laundromats, one at each pool. We have a separate overview of prices and photos of the laundry area at All-Star Sports.
