Through the Years: Winnie the Pooh and Friends Character Topiaries at Epcot’s Flower and Garden

Continuing our journey in search of topiaries through the years at Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival, I’d thought we’d stop in the United Kingdom Pavilion for another fan-favorite. Of course the pavilion is a popular spot each year, it’s home to Tinker Bell’s Fairy Garden and a topiary trio with Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Tick Tock, the Crocodile.
Then, there’s the Winnie the Pooh and Friends character topiaries featuring Winnie the Pooh, Rabbit, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. The five friends return to the same location for the 2025 festival. But for this article, we’ll take a look back to see how they’ve changed. Spoiler, this is one of the best transformations.

We’ll start with 2019, when Rabbit was barely recognizable.

This was the year that Piglet’s outfit was made of succulents and Eeyore was mostly green.

By 2021, Rabbit had started to receive a more detailed face and the inside of his ears were pink.

Speaking of pink, Piglet debuted a pink bodice, nose, and ears. Eeyore also shows some hints of pink around the ears.

By 2023, Winnie the Pooh and Rabbit had swapped places. I think Pooh’s had a different “hunny” pot next to him each year, which makes sense given how much the silly old bear consumes.

This year, we could see a full transformation for Piglet, who’s almost entirely pink! He looks like, er, Piglet.

The topiaries returned to the same spot last year. I remember seeing Rabbit for the first time and how the horticultural team had chosen a yellow leaf plant for the body of his topiary. Like Piglet, his transformation was pretty incredible.

Here’s a side-by-side comparison from 2019 to 2024. What a difference!
