Through the Years: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Character Topiaries at Epcot

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are the last topiary characters for now in our Through the Years series. When first started, I wasn’t sure how many we’d be able to get to before the festival’s 30th anniversary. It looks like we’re going to end up with about 20 sets. My hope is that I’ll be able to update these articles over time and add more sets to the series in the future. I chose not to add some topiaries like the Madrigal family from Encanto and Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog because they are somewhat new to the festival and don’t have much of a history yet.
As my list dwindled, I realized I had saved a few of the most classic characters for the end like Beauty and the Beast’s (here), Mickey and Minnie Mouse (here), and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Since Snow White is the star of Walt Disney’s first animated film that debuted in 1937, I thought this would be a good stopping point.
These special topiaries have been a part of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival for as far back as I can remember. Our photos date back to 2021, when Snow White and Dopey appeared in front of the restrooms in the Germany Pavilion during what was called A Taste of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. The festival was offered on a much smaller scale that year due to construction in the park and social distancing.

Then in 2022, Snow White and Dopey were relocated to a bed in front of the World Showcase Lagoon. They were surrounded by yellow, purple, and red wildflowers.

Snow White and Dopey were pretty updated at this point.

This was also the year the rest of the Seven Dwarfs returned to the festival with completely updated looks.

It is difficult to include them all in the same photograph. However, I think most would agree that they are one of the biggest surprises of the festival. It’s always fun to see other guests reactions when they first come across the eight topiaries lined up along the water. They are adorable. Here are a few individual shots and comparisons of each one.
