Where to Meet Pluto at Epcot (Near the Main Entrance)
Pluto! He’s Mickey Mouse’s closest pal who’s always excited to greet guests. Years ago, Pluto had a long-term traditional character meet-and-greet near Epcot’s main entrance in front of the Spaceship Earth mural. However, during Epcot’s refurbishment, he met at a variety of other places in the park, including the gazebo where Asha from Disney’s Wish now meets and the International Gateway. Since the overhaul is complete and the new Mickey and Friends meet-and-greet opened, Pluto has returned to meeting guests in front of the mural once again.
We were so happy to see him here and think he’s the perfect first character to run into when you enter the park! This area is formally listed in the My Disney Experience app as World Celebration, near the EPCOT main entrance. As you enter the park, you’ll see this location to the immediate right of Spaceship Earth. If he’s out, you won’t have any trouble finding him. But don’t be surprised to find a long line of guests waiting for a chance to say hi!
On this afternoon, the line was fairly long. After joining the line, Pluto left for a five-minute break. It is typical for characters to take small breaks. The cast members let everyone know they would be back shortly. Sure enough, a few minutes later, he returned. (If Pluto was leaving for a significant amount of time, the cast member would cut the line and not let anyone else join. So as long as you’re waiting, you’ll get to meet him, even if he takes a small break.)
We waited about fifteen minutes to meet Pluto, which was more than reasonable. A PhotoPass photographer was available at this location. However, they are not guaranteed. Pluto also signs autographs. He usually puts the autograph book on his nose to sign it. Make sure to have your items out and ready for him when it’s your turn. Characters usually like to greet guests and then sign autographs before posing for photos. Here are a few photos.
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the MDE app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Select the “Characters” category at the top middle of the screen. (The default is “Wait Times”.)
- After selecting characters, use the park filter to select the park on the top left side of the screen.
- Then, on the top right side of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
If you’re visiting Epcot, we hope you get a chance to meet Pluto. He is typically available intermittently throughout the day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. As always, make sure to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for his exact times and location.
