Meet Pluto at Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Mickey’s old pal Pluto meets daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as part of the See Disney Junior Pals meet-and-greet area in the Animation Courtyard. This general area is home to four Disney Junior meet-and-greets. The other characters who meet in the area are Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, and Doc McStuffins.
Below, we’ll discuss the specifics of Pluto’s character meet, including how to locate him in the My Disney Experience app. We’ll also preview a few photos of his location and character autograph.
To find Pluto from the park’s entrance, you’ll walk to the end of Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Chinese Theater replica. From there, you’ll take a right and walk under an arch that says Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As soon as you walk through, you’re in Animation Courtyard. Star Wars Launch Bay will be directly ahead, and the Disney Junior meet-and-greets are on the immediate right. The Disney Jr. Play and Dance! is also in the immediate area.
Per the signage, Pluto was meeting between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the day of our visit. As always, you’ll want to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for exact times and availability. Here are the instructions.
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the MDE app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Select the “Characters” category at the top middle of the screen. (The default is “Wait Times”.)
- After selecting characters, use the park filter to select the park on the top left side of the screen.
- Then, on the top right side of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
Pluto is a non-verbal character but does an excellent job communicating with guests. A PhotoPass photographer is usually available at this meet-and-greet. If you ask him to sign his autograph, he will gladly do so. It’s always fun to watch because he lays the autograph book on his nose to sign it.
After hugs and signatures, Pluto will pose for a few photos.
Here’s a picture of his character autograph. He signs the “o” at the end of his name like a dog’s paw. How cute!
