Where to Meet Pixar Favorites at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
It’s no secret that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is an excellent place to meet characters. You’ll find anyone from Darth Vader to Pluto on your character hunt. However, Hollywood Studios is not a princess park. Don’t worry, you’ll find plenty of princesses at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. When it comes to characters, I have found that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a Pixar park. The park has plenty of Pixar favorites for guests to meet.
Below, we’ll discuss the Pixar characters you can expect to find at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you love superheroes, monsters (not the scary ones), toys, and emotions, you’ll want to get your autograph book ready!
Before we get started, I wanted to remind you that characters are entertainment, and entertainment is subject to change. We update our character guides regularly, but things do change from time to time in the parks. So you’ll want to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for availability, the exact location, and times for each meet-and-greet. Here are the instructions.
How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.

#1 Edna Mode
We’ll start with Edna Mode, who meets at the Edna Mode Experience in Pixar Plaza. Pixar Plaza is past Walt Disney Presents before you get to Toy Story Land’s main entrance. If you’ve visited the park in the past, this meet-and-greet is in the same location where Buzz Lightyear and Woody met back before there was a Toy Story Land.
Edna meets at this location most of the day. She signs autographs, and a PhotoPass photographer is usually present. You know, Edna designed each one of them! She is fabulous.
#2 Joy from ‘Inside Out’
Joy from Inside Out (both) also meets in Pixar Plaza at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. She meets in a corner called the Pixar Plaza Palette. This area is outdoors, but a small overhang covers the actual meet-and-greet. We waited a considerable amount of time to meet her at this location when it first opened, so don’t be surprised if you find a long line!
Joy formerly met in the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot. However, she was relocated to Hollywood Studios when Inside Out 2 debuted. Years ago, Sadness met with Joy in the old Epcot Character Spot. Sadness would now be considered an exceptionally rare character to find at Walt Disney World.

#3 Mrs. Incredible, AKA Elastigirl
Mrs. Incredible meets at the Pixar Plaza Gate West at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is at the back of the plaza courtyard. When this meet-and-greet location initially debuted, she met here with Mr. Incredible. However, she has been meeting solo for some time. So you might run into them together. But I would only expect Elastigirl for the time being.
To provide a little history, Pixar Plaza was once Pixar Place. Then, it was rebranded as Municiberg Plaza. At that time (2019ish), the area was strictly themed to the Incredibles and featured a pop-up dance party where Mr. and Mrs. Incredible and Frozone made appearances on the dance floor.

#4 Frozone
Speaking of Frozone, you can usually find him roaming Pixar Plaza most of the day. If he’s out, he’s pretty easy to spot. Frozone is listed in the My Disney Experience app. If you don’t see him, ask a cast member in the area; they should be able to help. The cast members in the blue shirts at other character meet-and-greets are the best people to ask about characters. These cast members specifically work with characters. If they don’t know the answer to your question, they should be able to find someone to help you.
#5 Sulley from Monsters, Inc. (James P. Sullivan)
Sulley from Monsters Inc. meets across from Mrs. Incredible at the Pixar Plaza Gate East at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He formerly met with Mike Wazowski (in a variety of places) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With a new Monsters Inc.-themed land in development for the park, it’s hopeful that we’ll see Mike again. But for now, you can still find Sulley in the back left corner of Pixar Plaza. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the gentle, furry character.

#6 Buzz Lightyear
Buzz Lightyear meets daily in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. His meet-and-greet is located across the walkway from Roundup Rodeo BBQ. It is the only place to meet Buzz Lightyear at Walt Disney World. You may remember that he formerly met next to his ride in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. But that meet-and-greet ended a while ago.
Buzz meets intermittently throughout the day at this outdoor location. Since this is an outdoor meet-and-greet, it’s canceled in the event of inclement weather. So, if meeting any of the Pixar favorites is important to you, it’s important to get them out of the way earlier rather than later. (Edna Mode is the only person on our list with a dedicated interior meet-and-greet location.)

#7 Woody
Woody from the Toy Story movie franchise also meets daily in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He meets alongside Jessie near the entrance of Toy Story Mania. Every now and then, Bo Peep makes an appearance at this location, but she is not on the schedule. If you were to see her, she is likely participating in character training. She has been known to make appearances at Disney After Hours (a private ticketed event) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Years ago, when Toy Story 4 hit theaters, Bo Peep met with Woody at this location in Toy Story Land. At that time, Jessie met separately in front of Alien Swirling Saucers.
#8 Jessie
Jessie meets with Woody daily in front of Toy Story Mania. They typically do not take pictures without each other. But on the day of this meeting, Jessie was giving Woody a hard time, and he bowed out for a minute. It was all in good fun, though!
Don’t be surprised if you find a long line for these two! They are popular, and guests often wait in long, hardly shaded lines to meet them.
