Frozone Meet-and-Greet Transitions to Roaming Character Interaction at Hollywood Studios

During a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed several changes in the character lineup. One of those changes was Frozone. He formerly had a traditional meet-and-greet in Pixar Plaza. However, Joy has taken over that location, and Frozone has transitioned to a roaming character.

Thankfully, he still roams Pixar Plaza and isn’t difficult to find. In fact, given the nature of Frozone, it felt like he was much better off on the move than standing in one place. It was also fun for guests to see him while waiting in line to meet some other characters who occupy the same space. Here is a photo I took a photo of Frozone while waiting to meet Joy from Inside Out.

After meeting Joy, I decided to see if I could find him for a few photos. Unfortunately, he was leaving to go on break.

Before I left, I checked the My Disney Experience app and noticed that his next time was less than five minutes later. So, I decided to hang around for a few minutes to see if he returned. He was back shortly after that and more than happy to pose for a few photos. Since Frozone is now a roaming character, he will not have a PhotoPass photographer present. If you ask politely, he might sign autographs or stop briefly to pose for a photo. But for the most part, he will stay on the move.

Here’s how we locate the characters in the app.

How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App

Open the MDE app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
Select the “Characters” category at the top middle of the screen. (The default is “Wait Times”.)
After selecting characters, use the park filter to select the park on the top left side of the screen.
Then, on the top right side of the screen, select “Show List.”
Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
