Seeing the ‘First Order Searches for the Resistance’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

A day at Galaxy’s Edge would not be complete without running into a few bad guys, or good ones, for that matter. Thankfully, you’ll have a couple of opportunities during your visit. One of those opportunities is the First Order Searches for the Resistance entertainment offering at Hollywood Studios.

You may remember that we walk through Galaxy’s Edge regularly to see if we’ll run into roaming characters. Over the last year, the number of character interactions in the land has dramatically improved. But for a while, we never saw the stage show where Kylo Ren comes out and terrorizes everyone in sight. As someone who extensively covers characters at Disney World, I’m embarrassed that I didn’t know this offering was listed in the My Disney Experience app. To save you the trouble, you can find the “First Order Searches for the Resistance” in the entertainment section of the My Disney Experience app. It lists the times for each day.

So, with an actual schedule in hand, we did what any ordinary tourist would do and arrived a few minutes early to see it. According to Disney’s website, the show lasts approximately 25 minutes. But from our experience, it only lasts about five minutes. Afterward, Kylo Ren, escorted by two Stormtroopers, walks off the stage and into the crowd in search of anyone working with the Resistance.

The performance begins with a First Order officer. He’s on stage waiting for Kylo Ren’s ship to land in Batuu. Like any ranking officer of the First Order, he has a big head until the Supreme Leader arrives and shows him who’s boss. Here are a few photos of what to expect.

Check the entertainment section of the My Disney Experience for the exact times on the day of your visit to see this stage show. If you enjoy meeting Star Wars characters, you’ll have a few more opportunities in the park:

We enjoy seeing The First Order Searches for the Resistance. However, note that Kylo Ren can be a little intimidating to some children. If you have time and are interested, it won’t take much of your day to see it. We wish Disney offered more of these small performances that have minimal impacts on touring.
