How to Find 3 Characters From Disney Pixar's 'Up' at Disney's Animal Kingdom

If you want to meet characters from Disney Pixar’s ‘Up,’ you can do so at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Three beloved characters from the popular film are available in the park daily. However, you might have to do a little searching since two roam the park. We recently spent an afternoon at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and were able to see all three of these characters over the course of a couple of hours. Here’s how to find each one!

Russell

Russell is the easiest character to find. He has a dedicated meet-and-greet at the Wilderness Explorer’s Clubhouse. This location is on the right side of the Tree of Life (when facing it). It’s just before the entrance of It’s Tough to Be a Bug.

Russell meets intermittently throughout the day at this location. The times for this meet-and-greet are listed in the My Disney Experience app. Russell signs autographs, and a PhotoPass photographer is usually present.

Kevin

Kevin’s times used to be listed in the My Disney Experience app. However, as of late, her roaming times have not been listed. She tends to come out several times in the morning, then pauses for a lunch break, and returns intermittently throughout the afternoon. She roams the Discovery Island Trails. She’s usually relatively easy to locate when she is out, given her height and bright coat of feathers.

The Discovery Island Trails start at the top of The Oasis and run down both sides of the Tree of Life. We typically see Kevin come out near the stage for the Viva Gaia Street Band. She tends to roam the area in front of the Tree of Life or travels all the way back to Asia near Yak and Yeti.

Since Kevin is a roaming character, she doesn’t stop for every one. However, if you ask nicely and she’s able, she might pause for a quick photo. Make sure to have your camera out and ready. She tends to stay on the move.

Dug

Dug formerly met with Russell at the Wilderness Explorer’s Clubhouse. However, he recently debuted as a talking character. He now roams the park like Kevin. On this visit, Kevin would come out for approximately 15 minutes. After she left, Dug would often return for about the same amount of time. Dug also roams the Discovery Island Trails.

Update: Dug is back rotating spots at the Wilderness Explorer’s Clubhouse at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. His times are listed in the My Disney Experience app.
