Here's How to Find Chip and Dale at Disney's Hollywood Studios (Near the Brown Derby)

Chip and Dale have recently moved locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The chipmunk pair met near Echo Lake but can now be found near the Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, this is a traditional meet-and-greet location, not to be confused with when they met on the Brown Derby lawn some time ago.

We’ve seen them out on the last couple of visits, and it looks like they might be here to stay for some time—at least, I hope so. You might have noticed we’ve had a significant number of character updates on the site lately due to changes. We’ve even started a character archive for meet-and-greets that are no longer available.

If you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll want to check the My Disney Experience on the day of your visit for Chip and Dale’s exact location and times. They meet intermittently throughout the day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Chip and Dale are non-talking characters but do an excellent job of communicating with guests. A PhotoPass photographer was with them on the day of this visit. However, they aren’t always guaranteed. Chip and Dale also sign autographs at this meet-and-greet.

Here’s how to check the app to locate Chip and Dale and other characters during your visit.

How to Locate Characters in the My Disney Experience App

Open the MDE app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
Select the “Characters” category at the top middle of the screen. (The default is “Wait Times”.)
After selecting characters, use the park filter to select the park on the top left side of the screen.
Then, on the top right side of the screen, select “Show List.”
Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
