‘¡Celebración Encanto!’ Stage Show at EPCOT Review (With Photos & Details)
We don’t talk about Bruno unless you visit the ‘¡Celebración Encanto!’ at Epcot. Here, it is perfectly okay to talk about Bruno, dance with Bruno, and sing along with him. We stopped by to see the new Encanto Sing-Along that debuted at Communicore Hall on June 10, 2024. The show was initially announced as a limited-time offering. However, given its popularity, it has recently been extended to become a full-time offering.
So you might enjoy taking time out of your day to see a performance, especially if you’re a fan of Mirabel and Bruno! Below, we’ll discuss our experience seeing the sing-along and what to expect. Like most things, it has many positives and a few negatives. Whatever you do, don’t forget to apply a heavy coat of sunscreen. It will be difficult to avoid the direct sun at this location unless you luck up on an overcast day.
Updated December 19, 2024, to add that ¡Celebración Encanto!’ is now a full-time offering at Epcot.
When and Where To See ‘¡Celebración Encanto!’
‘¡Celebración Encanto!’ is held on the stage outside of Communicore Hall at Epcot. This area is considered part of the World Celebration. It’s around the corner from the new Mickey and Friends character meet-and-greet. Showtimes for the performance are listed in the entertainment section of the My Disney Experience app.
To locate the showtimes in the app, do the following
- Open the MDE app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Select “Entertainment” at the top middle of the screen. (The default is “Wait Times.”)
- After selecting entertainment, use the park filter to select “Epcot” on the top left side of the screen.
- Then, on the top right side of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through and select ‘¡Celebración Encanto!’.
*Note that showtimes will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
‘¡Celebración Encanto!’ Photos and Details
‘¡Celebración Encanto!’ is a sing-along that lasts approximately 25 minutes. Before the show begins, cast members ask guests to stand in the green lawn area before the stage. During the show, some of the performers will dance in the area in front of the stage. Unfortunately, the grassy area is in direct sunlight later in the day. During our visit, most everyone stood to the side in the shade until the performance began. Then, guests joined the grassy area for a close-up. However, I don’t believe anyone was able to stand there for the entire performance.
At the beginning of the sing-along, a pair of hosts take the stage and ask guests if they know the meaning of a specific word in Spanish. After a bit of crowd participation, the hosts invite guests to sing along to songs from the movie. A screen hanging over the stage shows clips from the movies with some of the lyrics for guests to sing along. Dancers perform choreographed routines to the songs while also working to get the crowd involved in the fun.
Several songs were performed, including the popular What Else Can I Do and We Don’t Talk About Bruno from Encanto. Thankfully, the sun doesn’t outshine these songs as guests, young and old, bust their best moves on the dance floor. A lively crowd makes all the difference at this type of performance.
After a few songs, the sing-along hosts introduce the surprise guests. Before you know it, Mirabel and Bruno Madrigal have joined the stage for a final song.
After a few lyrics, they leave the stage and join the crowd, celebrating along with guests. This is an excellent opportunity to see two beloved characters in one setting. As you likely know, Bruno does not have a dedicated meet-and-greet at Walt Disney World. So, this is a rare opportunity to see and interact with him.
Overall, I thought this was a fun offering for little ones who enjoy singing their favorite tunes and interacting with characters. The only downsides were the length of the performance and the difficulty of dealing with the extreme heat. We felt this offering would be much more welcome during cooler months and around the holidays.
If you’re interested in seeing these characters, this is the perfect place to do so. However, you might want to find a spot in the shade for the majority of the show. Thankfully, a pair of restrooms are nearby if needed. You can also dip inside Communicore Hall if anyone in your group needs an air-conditioning break. If you’re traveling with someone who can’t take the heat, they might enjoy breaking inside the lounge area while the rest of your group takes in a performance.
