Through the Years: Bambi, Flower, and Thumper Character Topiaries at Epcot

Unfortunately, we don’t see many references to Disney’s animated film Bambi in the theme parks. We’ve seen Thumper make a few surprise character meet-and-greets in recent years, but other than that the references are pretty obscure. However, you can usually find this trio in topiary form at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Our photo gallery of Bambi, Thumper, and Flower dates back to 2019, and we’ve seen them every year since. While their designs haven’t changed significantly over the years, their locations have. Below, we’ll preview photos of the Bambi and Friends topiaries throughout the years, starting with Bambi.

Thumper and Flower are always nearby. At this time, they were located in a fenced bed between the United Kingdom and Canada Pavilions. They were replaced at this location in 2021 by Miss Piggy and Kermit’s topiary.

As you may remember, Epcot was under major construction in 2021 when the Taste of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival replaced the usual festival, mainly due to social distancing. That year, Bambi and friends ended up in a landscaped bed in front of the temporary MouseGear for the festival.

In 2022, the trio were moved to a butterfly garden near the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot. This was a lovely spot at the time and Bambi had a topiary butterfly added to his tail.

In 2023, the three topiaries were moved to a landscaped bed between the World Showcase Lagoon and Canada Pavilion. They returned to this location the following year. Here are a few more photos.
