Through the Years: Lady and the Tramp Character Topiaries at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival

When I think of show stoppers at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival, the Lady and the Tramp topiary comes to mind. Between its outstanding placements to the vibrant flowers that always accompany it, the creation is something something you’ll want to put toward the top of your must see list. We’ll start with a photo of the topiary dating back to 2019, the first year we covered the festival. You might notice a relic in the background of the photo, the former Illuminations: Reflections of Earth globe. Its presence on the water indicates this photo was taken later in the afternoon. You may remember they used to raise the drawbridge near the China Pavilion to bring it out. Of course, they often do that for Luminous: The Symphony of Us these days.

This year the topiary was placed near the Ponte della Paglia, which is a replica of an original stone bridge in Venice, Italy. It was a beautiful location with the lagoon and Spaceship Earth backdrop.

It remained in this location for a couple of years. However, the backdrop had changed by 2021. Harmonious barges then sat on the water. They were considered an eyesore by many.

Fast forward to 2023, when the Lady and the Tramp Topiary was relocated to the pavilion’s courtyard. It was another stunning placement.

This location makes it look as though the pair are looking toward Spaceship Earth. But we all know the only thing they are looking at is each other.

See what I mean?

They are an adorable pair.

Lady and the Tramp are on the list of returning topiaries for this year’s festival. If you’ve enjoyed this look back, you might also like a few others in our through the years series:
