Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort Laundry Facilities and Info

If you’re anticipating that you’ll need to do a little laundry during your stay at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort, you’ll want to be aware of your options. Fortunately, they have a decent-sized laundry facility that’s shared between the resorts.
Below, we’ll preview the guest laundry area, which is located on the Dolphin side of the resort. We’ll also discuss what to expect and preview a few photos of the setup. We ended up doing a little laundry during our last stay at the Swan, and other than having to walk to the Dolphin, found the facilities convenient.

You’ll take the outdoor breezeway from the Swan to get to the Dolphin. There’s a covered walkway in case it’s raining. Once you read the Dolphin, you’ll take a hard left at the escalators to stay on the main floor. You’ll walk past The Fountain, to the end of the hallway, and take a right. After that, you’ll take a left at the next corner, where you’ll pass Lagoon Games, Lanes, and Recreation. Just continue down the hall until you reach the laundry room. It will be on the right before you reach the resort’s side entrance that leads to the Grotto Pool.

Here’s a photo of the laundry room. It’s pretty impressive for a hotel laundry room. A large granite counter sits in the center of the room where you can sort and fold your laundry.

A laundry sink is available in the back corner. So if you have any delicates or something that needs to be handwashed, you can do so.

There were plenty of washers and dryers.

Each washer and dryer cycle runs for 36 minutes. At the time of our visit, it cost $3.00 per load for the washer, and the same for the dryer. Per the signage, credit card sales will appear as an initial $15.00 hold until processed.

Each machine has an individual place to swipe your credit card. A few machines took quarters.

The commercial dryers were pretty standard. They offered the following cycles: whites and colors, perm press, or delicates. When I do laundry at a hotel, I start the cycle and then set the timer on my phone for a few minutes short of when it will finish. Then, after the alarm on my phone goes off, I return to retrieve my laundry.

Speaking of tips, I have a carry-on style bag with rollers. When I get to a hotel, I always line it with a trash bag for our dirty clothes. Then I roll it back and forth to the laundry room to load the washer and later to pick up my clean clothes. Tide was the only laundry detergent available on our visit. So if you have sensitive skin, bring your own detergent. A change machine was also available if you needed quarters.

Hopefully, this article provided you with the details for doing a little laundry on vacation. If you’re anything like me, you’ll get a load of laundry started, and then head straight out to enjoy your day at the Grotto Pool. It’s one of our favorites. Who says laundry has to be a chore on vacation?
